here we go with the whole kobe is either better or one step closer then mike but people fail to realize how dominate mike was his entire career and the fact that this is kobe’s 14th season and mike only played 14 seasons 12 if you dont include those bullshit 2 seasons with the wizards and he still avg 20 at the ave of 37 and 38 had 40 point games and a 51 point game, and people can say ohh he never won with out pippen but pippen never won with out mike, and look at the players mike beat in the finals compared to bryant also mike is 6-0 in the finals against IMO better teams, and won multiple mvps and lead the league in apg and won DPOY
and his stats say it all

He dropped 50 playing the 2 guard and the small forwards that night. Think about that. Quick positions top level atheletes. Mike gave them 50 + when he was 40 years old.

Kobe proved also proved that he’s not a top 5 all time player with this effort. Artest, Gasol bailed him out or else he would’ve been the goat. MJ never had a weak showing like this.

Dude got bailed out. He played like trash. Mike would have never had a game like that on that stage against a hated rival.

His shot wasn’t falling, but in that forth quarter he kept attacking and putting pressure on the Celtics D and was a big reason why they were in the penalty so early which was the difference maker in the game in my mind. He went to the line 15 times and pulled down 15 rebounds.

I’m not saying he is MJ, cause he isn’t, no one will ever be MN. But to say he played like trash and got bailed out is ridiculous.

And Dolla, MJ never led the league in assists.

Kobe isn’t on Mj’s level but t make the opinion to say he’s not a top 5 player of all time or jordan would never have a game like that is dumb.

Kobe’s career isn’t over and he has 5 championships, 2 finals mvp’s, a regular season mvp and all his other many accolades

and let me remind you guys that in jordan’s final game with the bulls, he missed 20 shots. you’re not talking about it because you only remember the shot over byron russell. but Jordan missed 20 shots that game. look it up. they even said it on espn. Kobe missed only 18.

Michael Jordan was 15-35, had 1 assists and 1 rebound. just saying.

    here’s proof.

I say you’re foolish because you never judge any player on just one game. More importantly you are ignoring the following:

    * Kobe had 15 rebounds! That was more than any of Boston’s big men had.
    * The defense in this game was vicious.
    * For the first time in the series, Boston was double teaming Kobe
    * The Lakers won and that’s the bottom line.

1.Kobe wont be MJ, but he’s the closest thing to him since
a 6’6 shooting guard, athletic, in a winning team, coached by phil jackson
Good Scorer,Defender. Has a killer instinct etc.
2.If you say that kobe’s game last night was horrible and gasol and everyone on the lakers bailed him out, you are STUPID. Everybody on that game shot HORRIBLE. Look at the freethrow %, the field goal % etc
    Pau Gasol – 6-16 FG 7-13 FT
    Andrew Bynum – 1-5 FG
    Jordan Farmar – 0-3 FG
    Sasha Vujacic – 0-2 FG
    Lamar Odom – 3-8 FG
    ROn Artest – 7-18 FG 2-7 3FG
    Kobe Bryant – 6-24 FG 11-15 FT
3.Kobe Bryant had 15 rebounds and still led the lakers in scoring
4.Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, The Los Angeles Lakers won a championship
Forget all the comparisons and just congratulate them for winning

I have to essentially repeat what I said above because I will gone for the Fathers Day weekend.

I believe those criticizing Kobe based on last night are foolish. You should never judge any player on just one game. More importantly you are ignoring the following:

    * Kobe had 15 rebounds! That was far more than any of Boston’s big men had.
    * The defense in this game was vicious.

Why does it matter that MJ missed two more shots than Kobe? That’s completely irrelevant. You need to look at shooting percentage, where MJ shot 42% and Kobe shot 25%. That’s a big difference.

You guys act like MJ never had a bad game and also his teammate bought into him dominating the ball a lot more than the media lets Kobe do. Kobe had a bad offfensive game but was great on the boards and also played good defense. Lakers shot poorly as a team. Kobe got some huge assists late in the second half and he also made some nice passes throughout the playoffs.

Kobe is not and never will be MJ and may never be better than him in legacy but he may win more rings and he may also have better stats. He can already do every Michael Jordan move and some others.

He does not have the same game as Michael though or the same team. I would love to see how the Bulls would have done against the Celtics. The closest thing they had dealt with would be the Bad Boys who beat them up and won until Bulls won in 90 or 91.

WOW!!! Both teams played excellent defense… Congrats to the Lakers they won game 7 by playing gritty tough nosed lockdown and throw away the keys defense… Kobe is no Jordan but give the man his due he go the job done by any means (see: 15 rebounds and stellar D)…

1st i never said kobe was not the closest thing to mike i just stated he will never be on his level, never did i bring up his performance in the games or finals period, if you actually read what i posted i i don’t even mention kobe that often only like 2 sentences and thats about it everything else is about mike and his stats and accomplishments and my reason for feeling the way i feel and its not to down kobe and his 5th ring because im actually a kobe fan and i have watched both MJ and Kobe and MJ was a different type of animal, so is kobe but no mike, and for people who caught feelings and started posting mikes stats from his last chip with the bulls and how he missed 2 more shots then kobe Cmon son like how is that even relevant kobe was 6-24 and MJ 15 for 35 and for the dude who said kobe did not get the calls like MJ he went 11-15 from the stripe so i dont want to hear that argument either and the nba was tougher back then players now get touch fouls, for flops and hand checks
AND the bottom line is MJ is and will always be the G.O.A.T

Its there job to that sho that shouldnt bother people are going say what they want if they feel you can mention Michael Jordan with Kobe Bryant then so be it. Nothing sells like someone who can challenge history right now kobe is the man so people are trying to say he’s the best ever. Like jay-z people says he better than biggie smalls someone he worked with and try to be like and be better than same with kobe

Kobe Bryant isnt’ MJ, but he is the closest thing we have seen since MJ. My reasons as to why Kobe is no MJ is much more than this one game 7. The whole body of work has to be looked at rather than one game.

First of all MJ kills Kobe statistically in almost everything. Also Jordan has more MVP’s (regular season and Finals). Jordan has a DPOY Award as well something Kobe does not have, and will never get.

Another reason why I don’t put the two in the same category is supporting casts. You take Kobe’s first 3 titles he had Shaq, if Jordan had Shaq they would do better than 72-10, and I don’t doubt that. Kobe has always had a better cast than Jordan, but Jordan has had to do more always.

My last reason Jordan has always played with fire since day 1, Kobe hasn’t played with a purpose until Phil Jackson came back. Phil Jackson said in his book that Kobe is “Uncoachable” that says a lot, he never said that about Jordan.

Why so much Kobe hate? Let Kobe be Kobe and Michael be Michael. I don’t understand why people are judging Kobe because of one game that he won for a championship of all things. It makes me think that some people ONLY understand basketball when it’s an offensive shootout. Defense wins championships, and the Lakers pulled a win even though they played horribly on offense. Just think about how good their defense had to have been just by looking at the stats of the game! But people are quick to judge when the game doesn’t go over 90+ points or if Kobe doesn’t score 25+ points.

Also, think about what the Lakers had to do to get to this point to win a championship. Yeah, they needed Kobe A LOT to even get to a game 7. They needed him to get to the finals. Heck, maybe they needed him to even get in the playoffs. That is how important he is to the team. Kobe still has 2-3 great years in him. Let him retire first before you talk shit about what he hasn’t done instead of what he has done. Also, the Shaq argument is moot. How many championships you think Shaq would have gotten without Kobe? Well got 1 but honestly, D Wade was the guy who won that ring, not Shaq.
