This is not a good year of Zoubek because this year’s draft is deep in PF/C, that doesnt help his cause. He will probably go undrafted.

Zoubek is terrible honestly. He may get drafted or most importantly signed with a team for a year or whatever, but he’ll immediately be the worst player in the NBA and the slowest.

you are terrible honestly! JK, don’t take it personally, but no way I agree with u. Zoubek led the league in offensive rebounds per minute and had something like 7.7 rebounds a game in less than 20 minutes. Will he ever be an allstar? Nah. But in a league where bigs are clearly overpaid he can be a great backup for years to come. Come on…if Aaron Gray has a team, Diop gets 6+ mil an year and Mutombo could find a team at 42 are you really telling me he is not worthed 450k and a secound round pick? He should be picked and, hopefully, he will.

We will see. It’s easy to rebound when you can park in the paint without having to worry about 3 seconds. Oh and Aaron Gray is a much better talent than Zoubek offensively, Diop is a huge defensive presence down low (one of the better post defenders in the NBA), and Dikembe Mutumbo is a H.O.F’er who gets the benefit of the doubt from organizations. Zoubek is basically as stiff a big as there is, and he has no standout skill other than being taller than college kids.

I think Zoubek is a lot like Kyle Lowry. Thoughts?

Aaron Gray averaged 10.5 rebounds in 27 minutes at college, and was way better offensivly, Zoubekl would be probably the worst defender, and worst offensive player in the league, hes a very poor mans Danny Fortson. Heck Fortson averaged over 16, points, and 16 boards one year hes not even as good of a rebounder as Fortsen.

Hes out of the league next year and averaging 3 points and 3 rebounds next year.

Zoubek DID NOT camp in the paint AT ALL. for the 14th time.

The Duke offense was Zoubek at the top of the key setting picks pretty much every time down the court.

Can someone please explain to me how he can be up top setting picks and camping in the paint at the same time?

What did he do after he set pick though? He wasn’t a pick-and-pop guy who stretched for 15 foot jump shots, followed his own shot, and got rebounds. He set picks, rolled to the rim or alot of times he didn’t even set the picks. Lance Thomas did. When Thomas set picks, Zoubek was mostly in the paint camped out trying to get rebounds. I watched Duke alot, so it’s not accurate to say that Zoubek didn’t camp in the paint alot of times. He didn’t stand in the paint every single play, but he did for a huge percentage of the time.

SpencerIsHawesome2 is correct, I rarely saw this guy get a 3 second call. He doesn’t camp and moved around the perimeter letting this 1,2 and 3 roll off screens he created. As soon as a shot went up, he crashed the boards hard. He is a great weak side rebounder and he gets his teammates open. His jumper out to 15 ft is shaky…….. but this guy can find a fit in the NBA. He could be a 7’1″ version of what Glen Davis brings to the Celtics. Sets screens, knocks down the occasional jumper and grabs a few rebounds here and there. By no means is he a lock down defender as a result of his speed, but he is worth the 6 fouls per game you need versus Howard and Gasol.

Zoubek not getting invited to the Chicago Pre-draft camp hurt and that was even after he skipped the Portsmouth Invitational. A late, late, late 2nd round pick (like 2nd to last or even last pick) to undrafted is obviously his range. His last chance of getting drafted is to impress in a group workout.

He should be able to latch onto a NBDL team.

Zoubek, and hit open jumpers shouldnt be used in the same sentance.

I was just about to say that Revenger. Sometimes you have to question just how much people watch the players they talk about play.

Zoubek would set a screen, then often times he would move around and set another screen… It’s not like he just ran down court and sat beneath the basket.

I would say he is right on the bubble of getting drafted, not because someone who gets drafted is better than him– it would be more of a potential-based pick (as the late picks usually are, hence a lot of them are from over-seas). He sign with a team play in the summer league and either be one of the last guys on the bench for a pro-team or a d-leaguer. It really depends.

I think Zoubek is better than Randolph Morris(my vote for worst player in the league), not saying a lot, but the fact Duke won the national title and he was coached by Coach K for 4 years and did improve over that span including a significant amount in his senior year will help his cause. I have Zoubek 58 in my mock. I doubt his impact as a pro player; however, a 7’1” body to scrimmage against in practice who is an intense player from a winning college program does have some draw, but as far as him being a regular contributer I’m pretty skeptical.

I have 2 defend 1 of my players becuz yall are killing him! Zoubek isnt a all around center or anything like that. Zoubek played a role on dukes team. his job wasnt to score or pass or any of that his job was 2 collect rebounds and bother the other team down low. 4 people 2 say he was trrash is funny but not true. He was a pretty goo dplayer when it came to gobbling rebounds. He gets into foul trouble alot and yea thats a problem but i think zoubek is going 2 be overseas if he wants 2 continue playin basketballl anyway.

God, how bad do you have to be if Mohamed plays and you watch? Even better…. if Cuban is willing to trade a big man for Matt Carroll….how bad is that guy? Answer….holy crap he is awful

I actually like what JoeWolf said most on this post because while he may rarely see playing time he can be a valuable asset during practice. He can be whoever the team is game planning against because he is so big. In that sense he is worth having.

I could see him getting drafted late. Notable college players who everyone knows have games extremely ill-suited for the NBA/have little-to-no athleticism get drafted in the 2nd round every year…

Do I think Zoubek will do anything in the league? Well..unless you call averaging 1.0 points and 1.5 boards in EXTREMELY limited PT for 14 NBA games, and being a decent D-Leaguer doing “anything”, then no I don’t. But I would not be the least bit surprised if he got drafted. I’d actually probably be more surprised if nobody does in the late 2nd…

Diop is a huge liability on offense, that’s why he can only play for certain teams. The Bobcats have enough defensive minded big men, and Mohammed and Chandler are better offensively and they fit the defensive scheme better. The Bobcats have an athletic team that likes to switch everything on pick and roll, and Diop is pretty slow, so naturally he wouldn’t see much time in that scheme. So to aanswer your question, that’s why he doesn’t play much.

Y’ou are trying to talk to me about Diop and all that stuff that has NOTHING to with Zoubek because Zoubek is garbage. Stay in your lane.

Cmon i dont know if i would draft this guy in the D league draft. All he can do is rebound, and defensive three second calls would take away a lot of that.
Those Pryzbilla comparison are way off because Pryzzbilla is more athletic, quicker, a way better defender, and a better rebounder too.

Hes overrated.
