MagikKnickParticipantThe Warriors rejected a proposed deal with Memphis that would have sent Monta Ellis to the Grizzlies for O.J. Mayo and Hasheem Thabeet, according to two separate sources.
Hamed Haddadi may or may not have been included in the deal as well.
“I don’t care about that,” Ellis said after Friday’s shootaround. “I play basketball. Whatever decision they make upstairs is on them. I never looked at it. I heard about it, but I never worried about it.”

MagikKnickParticipantI dont know what you guys think, but if this is true, Golden State made a HUGE mistake…
I’d assume that Memphis would be the team to decline this trade, but wow, Golden State turnt down that
oh & FYI: The offer hasnt been confirmed, so it just be a rumor…but still, this would have been major imo

JNixonParticipantWhy would either teeam be interested in trading either player? That’s my question. I could see Ellis being traded more so than I could Mayo, but I don’t see why either team would be interested in this. Well, it didn’t happen so I guess that’s the good news for both teams

gatorheelsParticipantI agree this was a HUGE mistake by the Warriors.
Ellis has a HUGE contract that still has like 5 years left on it. lol
Wow, getting Mayo & Thabeet, hard to turn that down.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI don’t believe that Memphis offered Mayo and Thabeet for Ellis… It’s even harder to believe that Golden State would turn that down…

butidonthavemoneyTwo of the stupidest teams in the NBA, trying desperately to out-stupid each other…
BTW, my best-friend Ronnie Brewer just got injured. Left in a wheelchair…

knicksfan7ParticipantAre you serious about Brewer, what happened to him??
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/19/2010 - 5:12pm #258420
nateoak10ParticipantOJ cannot play off the ball meaning he needs the ball in his hands to be as good as he can be, thats why the grizz play him at point some times and even considered to him to be the points. which means curry would have the ball less and that A TERRIBLE IDEA. not Thabeet was in it im not sure there but w/e. ellis fits better in gsw and oj fits better in memephis. nether fit on the other teams roster

M-DYMESParticipantThis trade seems real fishy. I see no reason why the Grizzlies would wanna trade Mayo when he is such a key piece of their success right now. The only reason I could see them wanting to do is would be in an attempt to free up salary space to resign Gay. While Ellis will make more than Mayo next year (about 2 mil) they also would ship off Thabeet (maybe they think hes a bust already) who is scheduled to make a lil over 5 mil. They then have a better shot at resigning Gay and Gasol.
I still don’t understand the offer if there was one.

butidonthavemoneyHe got a steal and then he just went down. Way down.
Tough to describe… Looked very painful though…
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/19/2010 - 5:14pm #258424
knicksfan7ParticipantThat really sucks for Brewer.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/19/2010 - 5:21pm #258431
j1232eParticipantBrewer’s first game after the trade, memphis must be scraching their heads about right now. By the way tell your buddy Q that boozer is starting at center replacing Okur you eent back to SLC for the birth of his child. Q stated boozer rarely plays center! So why in the hell is he starting at center.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/19/2010 - 5:21pm #258432

IndianaBasketballParticipantDamn… That’s rough. Getting traded for the first time in his career and then getting injured during the first game with his new squad.

d-grizzlyParticipantthank you for the jab money…haha

butidonthavemoneyI LOVE YOU RONNIE!!!!!!
Anywayz, yeah Booze starting at Center… But I’m done arguing about that, or anything as obvious as that. No point…
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/19/2010 - 5:30pm #258442

butidonthavemoneyDon’t be offended. I want the Grizz to win now that they have Ronnie. Plus I don’t think we get that draft pick unless the Grizz make the playoffs…
The Grizzlies are stupid. They offered a stupid trade. Luckily they offered it to a stupider team that is too stupid to accept it…
But, GO GRIZZ!!!!

d-grizzlyParticipanti think it was a phoney rumor to stir $hit up, but that’s just my opinion.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/19/2010 - 5:37pm #258446

d-grizzlyParticipantisn’t it a future first round pick and not one of the grizzlies picks from this year?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/19/2010 - 5:41pm #258447

butidonthavemoneyYeah, I think so. Different reports say different things…
I think it is 2011 and lottery-protected.

MagikKnickParticipanto_O
So….Mr.Utah Jazz is now a Grizzlie fan? Double You Tee Eff

d-grizzlyParticipantlmao
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/19/2010 - 5:47pm #258451

butidonthavemoneyI just want to see Brewer’s team be sucessful. I’m still Mr. Utah Jazz.
Deron Williams is really upset. He said that the Jazz got worse. He also said Ronnie Brewer was like his little brother and that he was happy he only signed a three-year deal with the Jazz…
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/19/2010 - 5:50pm #258452

d-grizzlyParticipanti ready something earlier about how stephen jackson was the only guy to welcome thomas and ratliff before the shootaround.
i think the team liked flip murray a lot…. plus rondo didn’t seem too happy to see house go…and it’s obvious d-will’s pissed off. i’m a lil amazed that some of these teams aren’t happy about the trades.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/19/2010 - 5:53pm #258453
j1232eParticipantthe trade with brewer consists of the following.
2011 prtotected 14th
2012 protected 12th
2013 protected 10th
2014,15 protected 9th
if the jazz don’t execute the protections after that utah recieves 3 mill. in 2016!0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/19/2010 - 5:54pm #258454

d-grizzlyParticipantthank you J!
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/19/2010 - 5:55pm #258455

MagikKnickParticipantYeah, there letting friendship get in the way of business…
But D-Will is right, Utah got worse, traded away there best perimeter defender…for a pick that they might not ever see
BTW, who started at the 2 for Utah?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/19/2010 - 5:58pm #258458
j1232eParticipantmathews at the 2 gaurd
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/20/2010 - 12:55am #258506
quinceyhodgesdont get to caught up with what dwill said. i remeber when i was living in utah and how mad he was when dee brown was let go as well. once everything settles im pretty sure all wll be forgotten. and i also dont believe that that trade was proposed. it makes no sense for the grizz and it would be a step down easily for them.

whyyouhatingParticipantHave you watch Oj Mayo play before?
He plays better off the ball than Ellis and right now he is playing as a good team player.
Connely has the ball or Gay, OJ has it at the end of games mainly.
But he needs the ball less than your boy Montae.0 - AuthorPosts
