i used to say kobe but i think its now lebron. now i still think kobe is a better killer and shooter and other areas but as far as all around i have to take bron. i watch the cavs and see how well he has them playing and start think how he makes others better and is just so unstoppable. its not a slight to kobe because kobve is still very very good and id take him in his prime over bron as far as who is the best player. and this has nothing to do with kobe being hurt this year and im a big laker fan and its not a blow out either. to me its like 1A and 1b. the cavs without bron just might be the nets because lebron gets so many people shots while also getting buckets

i really dont think kobe would be in my top 3… he is the best clutch player but i still think lebron, chris paul, and dwight deserve the honors before him…

The thing with Lebron, is that the Cavs would absolutely suck without him. They have limited talent, and yet he has led them to the best record in the East. Lebron has taken an otherwise miserable team, and made them legit contenders.

without kobe, the lakers would still be sick

without lebron, the cavs would be worse then new jersey

    end of discussion.

Nah nah nah, that’s where your wrong. I would pick them before Kobe if I had to start a team up from scratch for future purposes, but as far as being the best, Kobe is the 2nd best player with Dwyane Wade being 3rd. I think Lebron has cemented the “Best Player in the Game” claim as well.

I always thought it was Lebron, hes practically better than Kobe in every aspect of basketball, except scoring.
Not to mention Kobe has a REALLY good supporting cast….Lakers w/o Kobe is like a 6-8th seed in the playoffs, Cavs without Lebron is screaming top 3 lottery pick

that arguement doesnt truely make sense TaylorCondrin. i couldnt say kobe is better if he was on the cavs and bron was on the lakers just because the cavs would be worst without kobe then the lakers without lebron. the old bulls make the playoffs without jordan but the sixers dont make it without ivers is a example of why you cant just go by how the team would be

Cavs have a underrated supporting cast imo. I think they would make the playoffs without Lebron espeacily since the are in the East.

Hey jeff, who would be the Cavs leading scorer and with how many points? You really think that Mo Williams and Shaq could carry them to the playoffs? As for the best player in the league, its def Lebron, but the really scary thing is we havent seen Kobe at 100 percent once this year. Durant is really rocketing onto this list, and I think Melo, Wade Paul and Dirk deserve mention, but its a two man race, and there is no wrong answer

I think Williams would be there best player without James but I think it would be a very balanced team without Lebron. I think he would average just a little bit more than he is now with about 19ppg but I think his assists would go up alot because Lebron is very ball dominant so that will give him the chance to play with the ball in his hands for most of the game and that should give him more assists.

Frankly, I don’t think Mo Williams is that great a player. I actually think Lebron makes him look better than he actually is. He’s certainly not the ideal 2nd option for a championship caliber team, but Lebron is so good that it doesn’t really matter.

mo isnt a great player but before he was with the cavs he put up 17 a game with the bucks. he showed then that lebron doesnt make or break him as a player

I think the cavs supporting cast is a little underrated too … and i don’t agree with all the people making the arguments that because the lakers supporting cast is better than the cavs (which it definately is) that in some way this takes away from kobe’s greatness. I think as we’ve seen Kobe mature as a player we’ve seen him go from a numbers guy to a guy who focus’ more on getting his teammates involved and winning ball games and championships. I don’t think that should be viewed as a weakness though, how many people think kobe wouldn’t be capable of carrying a lesser supporting cast if that’s how his role was defined? I certainly think he’d be capable.

I’m a huge lebron fan but i think he has to win a ring before i can say he is the best. I do believe however that this is the year he finally gets his first.

You’re about three years too late, but yes, LeBron James is the best player in the NBA.

wade- most underrated player in league…. i think that next year its going to be race beetwen WADE-JAMES…. kobe is top 2 this year but next …. i dont know … and lakers have gasol, bynum, odom, artest and they are wining without kobe…. heat without wade cannot win highschool championship, cavs also….

lebron is the best right now, i can’t even argue that as a laker fan. But the first 6 weeks of the season, kobe was playing as well as ever and was better then lebron before his body started breaking down. You could say that is an excuse, but i still think kobe can get the mantle of best back if he comes back healthy.

as for the cavs would stink without lebron, therefore he is better argument, i don’t care for that. When jordan retired in 1993 and was in his prime, the bulls put pete myers in the starting lineup and won 55 games and were one of the best teams in the entire nba and advanced in the playoffs. Does that mean michael wasn’t great because his team was still good without him? You have to just look at the individual player when you are comparing who is better and not who is all around them.

THEY HAD PIPPEN !!!! PIPPEN COULD BE A STAR IN EVERY OTHER TEAM IN LEAGUE BUT HE CHOOSE TO BE A B OPTION AND WIN TITLES…. OMG

OMG…NO WAY, THEY HAD PIPPEN??? I TOTALLY FORGOT.

wait what does that have to do with anything? Kobe has great teammates and his team would be good without him, but you use that as a reason to say lebronis better . Well guess what, jordan had great teammates and his team won without him. You haven’t disproved anything i was arguing.

yeah imnot sure why people use that arguement. if lebron was playing wit the lakers then got hurt they would still win some games because he has very good teammates. cant use that to determine whos better. yoyu can use it to determine who has a better supporting cast though
