Scotty Hopson hit a step back jumper with about 7 seconds left in the game for the win.

Final Score:  Tennessee 61   Florida 60

Hopson had 10 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists

He is shooting 51% FG for the season which is top notch for a SG/SF.  He is also shooting 43% from 3 point which is very good too.

Still needs a lot of work.  He has to improve his passing, rebounding, ball-handling, & defense.   Not many prospects have his upside though.  Considering he is just a sophomore, very good athlete, has great size/length for his position, & is definitely really good shooter.

He should be a top 10 prospect in 2011. He’s like another J.R. Smith

I agree, I’ve always seen him as a J.R Smith type. I made that comparison a while back. He might even have a better handle than Smith did when he came into the league, which was a big hole in his game (didn’t allow him to fully utilize his athleticism). He has to work on his free-throw shooting as well, he’s only shooting 55% from the line.

I think Hopson will be a much better player than JR Smith because of playing in college. Also, Hopson is hopefully more mature than JR Smith, who I think is not a team player and can be extremely selfish as well as streaky. JR Smith is still young though. I think Hopson coming into the NBA will have an easier time transitioning than Smith and will make an impact sooner.

If you remember, J.R. Smith entered the NBA averaging about 10 a game. I think he’s at the same stage or slightly behind that Smith was as a rookie.
