GreenLanternParticipantIt’s being reported that the New Jersey Nets have as good a chance as anyone right now to land Amare Stoudamire in a deal. This rumored deal does NOT include Lopez, Harris or their 2010 first rounder. If the Nets can pull this off without giving up any of the aforementioned assets, I believe they will be in position to be contenders next year in the East. The scenario goes something like this: 1) Get Amare and put him at his natural position next to Lopez. 2) Keep Harris as your PG. 3) If you get the #1 pick, grab Wall of course and slide Harris to the 2. But if you don’t win the lotto (the worst team never does btw) it’s great too because your biggest need would be a swingman, something this lotto would have several quality impact options for you (Turner, Johnson, Aminu, maybe Motiejunas if you want to have a big lineup). 4) Sign an impact free agent. It would be a lock at this point to land a big-time FA if you had a lineup of Lopez, Stoudamire, a ROY candidate, and Harris.
This is THE domino effect scenario if the rumors are on target and Stoudamire winds up in NJ. From one of the worst teams of all time to one of the top 5 teams in the Eastern Conference. Amazing.http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/nets/nets_brass_shooting_for_sun_3RskjAA0klAqwpjHdij4kI

bobbybParticipantIt would be almost win /win for me , my 2 fave teams are Nets and Suns. It would also be great if they could re unite the lopez twins. The only problem i see is i think Amare wont be effective without Nash. Amare cannot score with his back to the basket and the Nets like to throw the ball into the post for Brook Lopez, which makes Amare ineffective.

GreenLanternParticipantI think this scenario has about a 60% chance of going down, considering the facts that it will be an Eastern Conf. team the Suns deal with, the young pieces on the Nets roster, the Nets’ cap space, and their market as well as other factors…

NYK2010ParticipantAll what ifs long way from Amare and John Wall on the team.
Suns are pretty stupid if they don’t get something of value for him.0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/26/2010 - 8:09pm #251066

GreenLanternParticipantNYK2010 “what ifs” are 90% of what we talk about on here lol. And it’s an especially ironic coming from someone with your avatar lol. There’s WAY more smoke to the Amare to NJ fire (as I prove with the links) than ANY summer of 2010 rumor. And one more thing I already pointed out in the post that NJ is more likely NOT getting the first pick, so I said they can pick one of the four SGs/SFs in contention for a top 5 slot.

NYK2010ParticipantThats why if you read my post I said for landing Amare and John Wall.

armanamare is 15 ppg player without pg like nash(pass first pg) and haris isnt nash so i dont think that they would be even in playoff next year if this happens…. and btw i dont know will amare resign with them at the end of season

WhyParticipantIf they get Amare that IS there big-time signing…They would have to lock him up to make a move. So don’t expect the Nets to add another free agent.
They’d be pretty decent though.
