JoeWolf1I just watched the KU v Iowa State game on espn2 and Craig Brackins should have left while his stock was high. I never thought he was a top 10 pick ( I thought he was a 15-25 pick) like this site had him going during the summer, but after seeing how weak of a defender he is against top notch talent really made me question if he is a top 20 pick. I have followed him and Iowa State this season, and although he possesses the length and versitilty on offense to play at an NBA level, his defense is sub par. I saw him being abused one on one against Cole Aldrich, Marcus Morris, Markeiff Morris, and even Jeff Withey ( who people should watch for in 2012 ). In addition, Iowa State is a poor team with little hope for an NCAA tournament birth so he will be off the radar again in March and April, and although this is only one game, Gilstrap, only 6’6” and a bit of a tweaner, stood out way more as a pro prospect in this game. At this pace I think Brackins could be in the 25-35 range by June.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantAll along, as if Charles Garcia has been around for more than three months.
BTW, Craig Brackins at a provisional DI program would be averaging 30-10.

Adi JosephClaiming Brackins is a poor man’s Charles Garcia is probably not a good thing to be bragging about. Garcia might slip into the second round if he’s lucky.
Brackins is probably still a top 20 pick, but mostly because of the weakness of this draft as a whole. I think it’s one of those cases where he didn’t help himself by coming back, but he didn’t hurt his stock, just his earning potential (by shaving one year off his NBA career).
Marquis Gilstrap is looking like he might just be Iowa State’s best player, but Brackins is still a better prospect than him because he’s more versatile. Also, don’t forget the amount of attention Brackins has had from opposing defenses.

JNixonParticipantCraig Brackins is more like a Charlie Villanueva/Channing Frye type
I also think that ISU’s PG Diante Garrett is a nice prospect who people should look out for….He ran the pick and roll very good in the parts of the game I watched, and he has good height for a PG at about 6’4
