If the following pipe dream scenario unfolded, Lebron’s #1 choice would be the clippers.

#1: win the lottery and draft John Wall – He loves wall’s game.

#2: Fire Mike Dunleavy, hire John Lucas – One of Lebron’s favorite coaches and current Clippers assistant coach.

#3: Trade Baron Davis and Sebastian Telfair for Jose Calderon, Amir Johnson (expiring of 4 million) , and Demar Derozan

That would make them the favorites. Think about it:

    PG: Wall, Calderon
    SG: Gordon, Derozan
    SF: Lebron, Thornton
    PF: Griffin, Camby
    C: Kaman, Jordan

That would be an other worldly young core. Their starting lineup would be an average age of 22! Could you imagine what a dynasty that would be. All that would need to happen would be the clippers would need to win the lottery and everything would fall into place for the Clippers with Lebron Dynasty. How crazy would that be. Camby would be able to resign by the way with the 4 million dollars saved in the baron deal. Look I know it sounds absurd, but really all that would need to happen for this to unfold is the clippers to fall into a tail spin (like the one they are currently in, but extended) and then win the lottery with their improved odds. Don’t you think that there is no way that Lebron could resist this if he were to leave Cleveland?

yeah, that trade doesn’t add up for toronto. Baron is on the downside and might not be happy in toronto. You could argue claderon is not much worse then baron right now and the raps have to throw in a young promising stud and an expiring deal to make it happen.

my point was if they win the lottery they can just trade baron for a good bench along with telfair to get more cap.

there’s no question the clippers could put together a title caliber young squad if lebron came in. But lots of teams could say that. And winning the lottery is not very likely so I’m not sure i would be even considering that option for the clipps. But with gordon, griffin and any young superstar from the free agent class and the clipps should be back to the playoffs next year. The big question is can they land a marquee free agent.

i think they could because when ur a marquee free agent the 3 most important things are…

    1) money
    2) location
    3) supporting cast

what teams can match up comparably with the clippers in those 3 things…

    1) the NY knicks
    2) the brooklyn nets
    3) the Chicago Bulls
    4) the miami heat

so if u then assume lebron, wade, joe johnson, amare, chris bosh, rudy gay, and boozer are availabe.

    then you assume…

    1) knicks – lebron
    2) nets – rudy gay
    3) bulls – boozer
    4) heat – wade
    5) clippers – one of bosh, amare, or joe johnson

Right now the Clippers have a 0.8% chance of getting the first pick. Even if you want to get creative and pretend that Chicago, New York, and Sacramento finish with more wins, they’d still only have a 4.3% chance. You might have to settle for Griffin.

if the clippers use their money, it would ideally be on a sf. Joe Johnson could play some sf but i don’t see him leaving atlanta unless he beomes the sidekick to another superstar like lebron or bosh somewhere else.

It’s all speculation right now until we see hwat happens. The clippers should be after someone but it’s all specualtion right now as to who they could get.

Move out of Los Angeles than maybe he’d go to the Clippers.

what does joe johnson have to gain from a major market? It’s not gonna effect his contract. He’s not the type to worry about exposure he seems real low key and soft spoken. I don’t think there would be a bunch of endorsement money coming in all the sudden. What does Joe Johnson have to gain from a major market?

thats why someone would come to the clippers – the market. if they were st. louis or somewhere like that this wouldn’t be talked about.

Maybe someone would come to the Clippers but its doubtful Lebron would.
Why would u want to play in Laker land and play second fiddle to them.

because a guy like joe johnson can get the added benefits of being in a major market without being highly scrutinized like a player in a major market normally would.

i think it would be a great idea for Lebron, carreer wise, to sign with the clippers next year. If he can win there, and he will have a good supporting cast, he can prove he is better than Kobe. There will be no more debating about one in the east and one in the west. There would be more head to head match ups to showcase who is better. If Lebron can take over LA, he passes Kobe.. Ending all debates.

Why the heck would Toronto do that trade?

And the chances the Clippers win the lottery in back to back years is very low.
