    NBA
    1. Yao “The Dynasty” Ming (Dominates against Dwight Howard everytime)
    2. Dwight “Superman” Howard
    3. Brooke Lopez. (Wasn’t suppose to translate well to the League eh? Not mobile enough, too basic?)

    NCAAB
    1. Dexter Pittman (In his limited minutes he puts up big minutes and is virtually unguardable due to his strength)
    2. Cole Aldrich (Good Player on a Good Team, doing it consistently)
    3. ??? Still undecided.

I hate when people purely rely on stats, but in the month of December, which is the first full month this year in which he’s had to play with Pau, Bynum is averaging 11.5 pts, 5.8 rbs, 1.5 blks, 3.4 fouls in 28 minutes per game. With those numbers, it’s tough to make the case of him being a top3 center in the league.

Are you guys high? Brook Lopez as a top 3 center in the league? The only reason he’s scoring the way he is, is becuase his team is garbage and someone has to shoot. I’m not so sure I would put him in the top 10.

    1. Howard
    2. Ming
    3. Kaman
    4. Bynum
    5. Horford

    Honorable mentions: Marc Gasol, Okafor.

Amare, Al Jefferson, and Pau are PF’s in my opinion. Pau is questionable.

Where in the hell are you guys getting Brook Lopez as the third best center in the league? Do you guys have any idea the type of numbers guys like Kaman or Bynum would put up in NJ?

im wondering if tim duncan is still considered a center, the other starting big is matt bonner….

but if he’s not counted and never will i count amare or horford centers it goes as such

    dwight
    kamen
    lopez
    marc gasol
    bynum

bynum is booty, i never liked his game, he’s far too soft to be a top 3
and if horford and amare were centers he’d be completely off the list

I would put Yao first, because he is a more complete player than Howard, but since he is injured and who know how good he can comeback to, so
    1. Howard, didnt watch many ORL games, anyone know how much he improved in his post game?
but stat wise, his ppg and bpg are down from last year, I know his ppg is due to the arrival of VC, I have no idea why his blocks went down, I honestly thought he would have somewhere close to 5bpg.
    2. Brook Lopez, he is solid, just solid, not flashy or exciting, but he always gets the job done, kinda like Timmy. I think if Howard does not show much improvement soon, he will pass him as the number one center in the game. (seriously, this guy should have been the 2nd or 3rd overall pick in 08)
    3. Bynum, he showed what he is capable of doing when Gasol was out, I think in a couple of years he will be the main option in the paint for LA, and I think he will have Kobe by his side for a long time, and that will be a bit advantage. Longer and bigger than Howard, have more post game, but not as athletic and strong.

Brook is a beast he has even if his team sucks, he beats doubles and tripes and kills. Timmy still plays the center pos for the Spurs and is still a problem at this age 19 and 10 55% shooting.

    Yao
    Timmy
    Howard
    honorable mention: Brook

center is subjective….for college guys are we talking they play Center on their team or in the NBA thats the position they will play

for instance, michigan’s DeShawn Sims is a combo forward in my mind yet he is forced to play center for michigan

Duncan is a power forward. Lopez is putting up 19 and 10 in 37 MINUTES A GAME on a TERRIBLE TEAM. Bynum is putting up 15 and 8 on a team where he is the 4th option and playing 32 minutes a game and shooting a much better percentage. Lets be real here people. Stop looking at a PPG and RPG and start looking at who there playing for and their minutes. For christ sake, I’d score 20 a game if you put me on the Nets. There awful.

Al Jefferson is not a center. Amare is not a center. Matt Bonner is considered the Spurs center.

wouldnt it be harder to score when you play so much and are the focus of your teams offense(number 1 option), while teams defenses key on you rather than being the 4th option on a good team where you have no pressure and you get easy baskets cause everyone else on your team is good.. id say it would be easier to score in bynums position rather than brooks.

of course bynums numbers are gonna go down since the return of a second team all nba power foward. that doesnt make him any worst. the same would happen if gasol went to nj or orlando so does that mean howard or lopez arent as good as they are now?..what about when the players play for the olympics?..because lebron, wade, kobe stats are down during that time does that mean that they aren’t that good anymore?..stats tend to go down when you have to share the ball with another good player

When healthy, Yao is the best center in the league. He is the best and most polished scorer by far- there is no one you can compare him to in the league right now in terms of scoring ability as far as centers go. He dominates Dwight Howard everytime they play. He even dunked on him last year. Yao is one of the biggest matchup problems in the league because of his versatility and height.

even when lopez doesnt have big number he still makes a big impact.i would def take him over bynum/kaman, Duncan plays center according to espn and anyone who watches him play, he always guards the opp. teams biggest post player .

its so hard when you dealing with a player putting up big numbers on a bad team. not just talking about lopez but the kevin martins, monta ellis, david less. i mean we know they are good but how good. and how good would some of these centers on good teams be if they were on those bad team sand were the focal point of there team and get to play a lil under half the game some games against the back up centers?

I only know NBA enough to answer:

    Howard
    Lopez
    Jefferson

But don’t be surprised if they ever straighten things out and give Roy Hibbert consistent minutes if he suddenly enters the discussion. He’s had some impressive games this year, but lacks consistency.
