The ballot selection is so flawed…It has Amare listed as a center..When he hasnt started center this year..And with Shaq in the East & Yao out for the season..This give Amare a very good shot at being chosen to play and he doesnt have to compete against the very talented crowded forwards competition in the West…Mcgrady is 1 of the 10 best players in the league when he’s healthy..And 1 of the most entertaining to watch..But he guy hasnt played a minute this year…Yet fans have him 2nd in votes at guard for the west…Some have said…This is 1 reason why fans shouldnt be allowed to vote…The league has made several exceptions..In 1987 when legendary DR.J started his final season..After he wasnt voted to start by the fans…In 1992 When Tim Hardaway gave up his starting spot and allowed Magic to play..Then again in 2003 Jordan’s final season..Vince Carter who had been injured most of that season, took a backseat & let Jordan started..Is it fair that T-MAC might be starting for the West? I say yes!!!! But he should step back and allow either Paul or Nash to start otherwise he’s going to hear it from the media for the rest of the season..The fans voted for him..Becuz they wanna see him play..Fans should vote for whom ever they want to see play…We want to see guys doing special things…Guys we know will put on A SHOW….

I’m pretty sure the majority of T-Mac’s voters are from China lol.

Why did he even appear in the ballot?
I think the ballot system sucks, it makes players like T-Mac and Iverson get into the All-Star game every year, coaches should decide like it was before

Is there really that many stupid NBA fans? Are like 16 year olds all voting for these guys? Amare or Vince being voted in to start, let alone play, would almost be as a big of a joke as T Mac starting…

Amare dosent play defense, dosent rebound, dosent block shots, has an extremely over rated game and people are voting for this clown to start???

What has Vince Carter done this year??

Look at all the guys that they completely leave off the voting ballots, there turning this into an absolute popularity contest

Its hilarious how Amar’e hasn’t played Center this season but he’s listed as 1 and if TMac does make the starting 5 he’ll probably give it up to CP3 or Nash and if he doesn’t he will have a tough couple of days following the All-Star game.

the coaches and gms should vote who gets to be on the ballot, and then let the fans vote who will start. This system would make sure that guys like t-mac wouldnt make it on the ballot.

Positions and who is on the ballot is determined before the year even starts. I have heard of some teams telling the league where they want certain guys listed to help their chances. It probably works good for the league too. With no Yao or Shaq in the West, that doesn’t leave many choices at center. Not that there was much to begin with.

As far as McGrady goes, let’s say he gets voted in and he says he can play AND he has medical doctors that clear him. Then does he have to play or get to play? That would be crazy. I hate the all star game voting though. Every year there are guys who obviously do not deserve to be on the team, but they get voted in as starters.
