Tyreke Evans creeping past Brandon Jennings as the league best rookie

Evan’s is quite consistent with his points. I don’t know anything else about him besides that.

blazerfan7, not to be rude, but posts like u just posted piss me off. How is Tyreke’s points inconsistent. Out of all rookies, Reke has been by far the most consistent. He has scored 20+ points in 9 out of his 11 last cames. The only recent game where he didnt score big was when he scored 14 points against NOH because they centered their defense around him.

Evans is gonna be a monster in a couple of years. 6’6, 220 with the ability to play both guard positions. Now before you take my points away because you don’t think that Tyreke can play point guard, I’d just like to let you know that I don’t think he’s a true point guard. I simply think that he’s a guy who can bring the ball up the court and find open teammates by driving and dishing, but not really a guy who can consistently set up your offense. Come to think of it, I might get points taken away for that, too. Oh well, can’t please the world, right? Anyways, his long arms, strength, ability to get to the rim and unselfishness make him a real stat-stuffer. If he continues to improve his jumper and decision making, then I think he’ll have multiple all-star appearances in his career.

The Bucks’ dependence on Jennings seems to have really worn him down, as he has shot terribly the past few games. I don’t know if he has hit the rookie wall early or if he has just come down to earth to stay, but he needs to pick it up if he wants to win ROY. Redd is out with an injury and has been out most of the year, so that isn’t really the reason for his drop off.

I just waited for it..hope Jennings comes back it was nice to see his crazy games and battle with evans..but if he keeps shooting under 30% with 20+ fga then Tyreke – R.O.Y.

Evans has all the tools you need to be aperennial all star in the future. Hes 6’6″ he can shoot he is unstoppable goin to
the basket.

Evans has that killer instinct that you need to be a star. I think he will eventually become a point guard or power guard kinda like how lebron is for cleveland. He can do it all.

Too bad he plays for Sacramento.

He is more of a scorer than Jennings so he might have more success throughout his rookie season. Jennings is the better player though. He creates for his teammates better, and runs the pick and roll with Bogut excellent.

It annoys me that Evans has been the one playing better over the last few weeks, is now averaging better stats overall for this season, and is leading his team to a slightly better record, while at the same time getting less touches than Jennings, who has the ball in his hands every time down the court, but yet people say Jennings is better because “he can run a pick and roll”…

I understand saying the Jennings is still ahead of Tyreke this year because at this point in the season that is still a plausible argument to make because they have both been about equal, but using the reasoning that one can run a pick and roll is incredibly annoying to me, the pick and roll is insanely simple, you can watch almost any two players in the NBA run it. Saying that one person is better than another just because they run a nice pick and roll is negating all of the other facets of the game that need to be taken into account, rebounding ability, passing, points, fg%, 3p%, ft%, leadership qualities, defense.
