I’ve been a b-ball fan for years…And noticed that players have some of their best years…During a contract year…Before the start of the 2006 college season..Rudy was mentioned as the possible number 1 overall pick..But he failed the take over games, disappeared during games and often defered to less talented teammates..And didn’t have the superstar season many had predicted so he fell to number 8 in the draft…This season have been his best season in the nba so far…Averaging 22 points and almost 7 rebounds a game..And he has improved his passing…Finally living up to the superstar many said he would become…I think he’s going to be 1 of the top 3 free agents in the coveted 2010 free agent crop..Phoenix has been trying to trade for him….I believe someone will be willing to shell out 11 to 13 million a year for him…Teams have overpaid players before that didn’t deserve it….

Lol I was just about to make a post about this. I think the Knicks should try and get him in free agency along with a good point guard

sometimes it is smart to wait before signing..if you play well then you can demand more money. of course on the other side if you play bad you lose money. basically if you are on a team where you are one of the focal points then its good to wait before resigning

Where do you think it would be good for Rudy Gay to go?

If the Nets cant get one of the bigger free agents, Gay would be a perfect fit

    Harris
    Lee/Williams
    Gay
    Jianlian
    Lopez

Best fit imo, they have a huge hole at his position, and alongside Harris and Lopez he’ll get a good amount of opportunities

I hope the Grizzlies MATCH any offer to keep the man. Anything above 11 million per year….then just let someone else deal with him.

Word. I did forget CDR, i like him alot, too.

Nonetheless, Never give to much credit to the leading scorer on an 0-14 team

If i’m not mistaken, Rudy Gay will be a ” restricted” free agent at seasons end. Memphis can match any offer.

lol..true..you cant get too much credit…thats why i dont give galliarni too much credit and some of the other lower teams. probably why kevin martin doesnt get more credit then he does

How about Portland and Rudy Gay.

    PG – steve blake
    SG – Brandon Roy
    SF – Rudy Gay
    PF – Lamarcus Aldridge
    C – Greg Oden

They can’t afford him because they just gave max contracts to lamarcus aldridge and brandon roy a while back.

point up to yankees for seeing the same thing. It’s not like rudy’s just gonna walk away from the grizzlies. Memphis will have the opportunity to resign him…..it’s like people can’t comprehend the fact yet.

i think its just people want guys to leave via free agent to see how they do on other teams. im sure the same people are the ones who make trades on nba live or 2k to see how someone would play on this team or so they will be more exciting( i know i do..lol)

Please don’t say that it makes me want throw up. Because the grizzlies have all these good players or potential all stars. An can’t find a way to put it together. I just can’t stand watchin my boy oj mayo or rudy gay any more or anyone else out in memphis because they are just wasting there talent out there.

I think the jazz could be a good option for them if they did a sign and trade because both okur and kirilenko have expiring contracts and deron willams would really excel with having a athlete of his caliber. Rudy wouldnt have to create for himself that much and he could excel with in the fast break with wither maynor or willaims pushing it

the best fit for gay is……………..memphis they juss are in need of a smarter front office they lucked up with the mayo love trade…. but passing up harden and jennings for hasheem?….when as i predicted they will be headed back to the lottery and a draft full of bigs didnt make much sense…i like carrol and sam young…they juss need a system. because there playbook isnt working well 1 nite they go to randolph and he has a big nite against bosh, another nite gay, mayo, and carrol jack up shots what im trying to say is they go into games every nite with lack of chemistry and differnt agendas…i think the princeton offense would have worked in memphis….but speaking of systems I think gay is a system player utah is a system team lead by a all star cal point in deron williams what most ppl dont know is when teams play the jazz there defensive strategy is to make deron shoot and go under screens to give him a shot rather then a lane to the basket why becuase he is a player who gets other player involved a great scorer but not only a great scorer a great passer they rather him get 24 ponts then 24 ponts and 15 assit hes the type of player who leads a team to a chammpionship. Also Utah has a lottery pick and most likley will have 2 lottery picks in will upgrade in this draft temendously with evan turner, xavier henry, wesley and favors being available to make a impact on the jazz….plus with boozer, kyle, and okur coming off they cap and ak47 coming off the following year utah will be a hot spot with a system to make any player look better then what they are”{boozer}” .A system that makes all star poteinal player into all stars, second round draft pick to starters{milsap}. A system with a hall of fame coach in jerry sloan, he just so happens to have the longest active tenure in all of sports history not just basketabll. I think utah is another good place for gay if memphis doesnt get there act together
