If you were the G.M of the Grizzlies, which one of these guys would you get rid of first and where would you send them to:

    Rudy Gay
    O.J Mayo
    Mike Conley

I would get rid of Mr. Gay. I don’t think that he understands how good he can be on both ends of the floor. He’s very tentative on offense, and he had the same problem at UConn. You can’t really build a team around him not only because of his tentativeness, but because of his selfishness. He also doesn’t seem like he would be willing to be a #2 option on a non-playoff team. O.J might have a reputation as a chucker, but he’s actually pretty unselfish and is a good passer. You can’t build a team around him either because of his lack of ability to get to the rim and finish, but he would make a good #2 option. I would trade him to Utah for Ronnie Brewer and a first round pick.

    Just my two cents……..

Gay will walk as a free agent. the griz owner is uber cheap and will let him walk walk. i hope Mayo gets traded to a better team. either that or the team gets a better owner

Explain how Gay is tentative while also being selfish lol. I agree with you… I just want to hear your opinion on it because I can’t quite put my finger on it.

gay doesn’t have that killer instinct that will make him a star. going into his last year at uconn he was considered as the top pick in the 2006 draft but just didn’t have that “it” factor

You can be tentative and selfish by taking alot of jumpshots instead of driving to the hoop while not passing the ball. Sorry if I confused you, maybe tentative wasn’t the right word. Maybe………. soft?

you know, prince could be a good fit for this team. how about it, a griz who actually plays defense

very true. i like prince on the grizz. he would be a great fit for that team. Gasol and Mayo are similar players. they work very hard on their games too

Not only does he play defense, but he’s a good passer. He may not be the scoring threat that Gay is, but they have plenty of scorers in Mayo, Randolph, Gasol (underrated) and Iverson (?). The only bad thing about it is that the salaries don’t work out 🙁

Rudy tries hard…He’ll be a great number 2 option on a team..But right now the referees don’t give him superstar calls..And he only averages 9 or 10 shoots a game…I would try unloading Conley..his defense is so weak..He’s a poor outside shooter..Plus he can’t play the game unless he goes up or down..If he tries to make cuts right or left..He causes turnovers…

I would move Gay first because Conley does not have as much trade value and he would be a perfect bk up to maybe a starter like John Wall who they should grab.

He isn’t getting any younger and couldn’t carry the team.
