thetruthParticipantokay i can understand he doesnt have a full roster with harris and douglas roberts out. but come on now 0-8. i think frank did a nice job coaching the nets when he took over for scott. but thats when he had kidd, martin and jefferson. now hes coaching a young rebuilding team. i dont think hes a coach who can build a team. he needs to be around playoff teams. his overall record is 209-201. in six seasons. i just think its time for a change. if the nets are serious about winning, and going to brooklyn and signing a big time player or putting a winner team out there. now is the time and go hire a avery johnson, hell even give mark jackons a chance. someone who can install discipline in these young guys. let me know what you think.

butidonthavemoneyWhy does the blame always go to the coaches? Even with a full roster it would be unfair to expect the current Nets roster to be sucessful. Frank is a good coach and the players seem to like him (I’m basing this on absolutly nothing).
Why cause more chemistry problems?

llperezGetting rid of vince was a cost cutting move that sent them into rebuilding mode. Not having Harris as well as Jianlian who started well hurts. They are actually competing well in some close games. I’m not ready to axe him already.

dwilks101586ParticipantFrank is a good coach but look what they did to Scott they fired him the season from they went to the finals. They are giving Frank a lot of chances so lets see what he does with them

TheAlchemistDon’t fire him yet man. He’s having to work in some pretty tough conditions and he is a good coach. Saying that though if he gets Harris, CDR, Yi and Brook into the starting line-up and they still can’t win then he will be in trouble.

quincey hodgesyeah its just you..the nets are the walking dead…with harris injured and vince traded with a couple others being injured they arent gonna be that good. frank is safe though becaue the owner came out and said this was expected with the injuries and vince being gone

NYK2010ParticipantHe should be fired.
They had Harris, Lopez, Carter and 34 wins with Kidd, RJ, Carter the year before too.
He’s never gotten past the 2nd round with Carter, Kidd, RJ trio.0 - Posted on: Thu, 11/12/2009 - 5:36am #228965
quincey hodgesyeah but he has gotten to the finals and they are rebuilding..the nets were a after thought before he got there with no really good players really wanting to play there..this is why alot of teams never make it they dont stick with coachs through the good and the bad..thats why organizations like the spurs and utah are good they stick wit there coach through the good and the bad..plus other then last 2 years(which was known to be the start of the rebuilding years) hes kept them above 500..just like how the hawks are rising now a couple years ago they were pretty bad as i recall while rebuilding

IndianaBasketballParticipantUm… Lawrence Frank has NEVER taken the Nets to the NBA Finals. You have him confused with Byron Scott. The Nets were an afterthought before Byron Scott got there, NOT Lawrence Frank.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 11/12/2009 - 5:55am #228969

IndianaBasketballParticipantI think he should be fired. He overachieved during his first season after he took over for Byron Scott (25-15 record), but other than going 49-33 in 2005-2006, the Nets have underachieved in the regular season and had basically a .500 record every season. He’s never taken the Nets past the second round, like NYK2010 said. I don’t know what you’re talking about Quincey… He’s NEVER been to the NBA Finals.
The last two seasons the Nets have finished 34-48 and missed the playoffs. Yes, he should be fired. He’s a good coach, but it’s time to get a new face in there… A fresh start.

quincey hodgesi ment coach scott with that one..not sure how they underachive when they werent expected to get that far since hes taken over..you underachive when you get further then what was expected of you…as long as the gm doesnt think he needs to get fired hes safe which is whats the case righ tnow…but ya’ll are more then welcome to want him fired..everyone is intitled to there opinion

Everything you said there shows a lack of basketball knowledge. Who’d give you any points or credit for saying that other than yourself lol?

quincey hodgesbut if im so wrong how come hes not fired and the gm said his postion is safe???..hmmmmmm seems like im correct in saying he shouldnt be fired…i also recall saying i made a mistake about frank leadin g them..and do you really have to ask about points..how lon ghave you been up here and see peopel lose points just for saying something like “kobe is a pretty good player”..as i recall even you complained about why you lost points for saying something in another post that was true, am i correct?

Disrespect_MeParticipantFor ceQuincey the Grouch
Two starving bums
These two starving bums are walking through an alley when one of them sees a dead cat.
One runs over, sits down and starts to eat the cat, tearing the meat from its limbs.
He says to the other bum (quincey), “Hey, I know you’re hungry, too. Why don’t you eat some of this cat?”
“Hell no!!!” replies the second bum, “That cat’s been dead for days, he’s all stiff and cold and smelly!”
The first bum says, “Okay, suit yourself,” and continues to eat everything, skin, muscle, guts, all but the skeleton.
A few hours later as they are walking down the street the first bum says, “Oh, I don’t feel so good. I think there might have been something wrong with that cat.”
And just then, he pukes up a huge puddle of rotten cat flesh and guts with stomach bile mixed in, all half digested and looking like mush.
Quincey Hodges sits down next to the puddle and says, “Now you’re talkin’! It’s been months since I had a WARM meal!!!”

jibbers0ParticipantWhy fire the guy? That’s a Memphis move in my opinion. After trading Vince, I thought this team was lucky to bag 20 wins this season. They have solid pieces in Lopez, Harris, and Lee. Add in the draft where they can get another big man to go with Lopez, and a huge free agent pool and this team can be a force in the East next season. Let the coach rebuild with the team. It worked with Portland and soon Oklahoma City.

RUDEBOYYes the Nets are in a rebuilding year..But unlike most teams thats starting over…The Nets have 2 AllStar caliber players in Harris & Lopez at point guard & center..The 2 most important positions on a team…Plus CDR was having a good start to the season until he caught the swine flu..Yi has been out alot..Plus they really dont have much depth…But despite it not all being Frank’s fault..I dont expect to see him lasting the season as their coach..Dont feel sorry that he’ll be out of a job..Maybe he can make a living impersonating Jeopardy champion Ken Jennings….
