sheltwon3ParticipantThe seem to be losing to good teams and getting manhandled by great teams early on. They seemed to have lost that glow that they have had before. I don’t think Jefferson is enough. Duncan may get his numbers but they don’t have intimidation factor anymore. No one is scared of the Spurs anymore and that don’t look like they will be anything but a solid basketball team among powerhouse teams that are just so much more talented.

TheFutureofthisgameParticipantIt’s not just you, they aren’t productive and will not be that big of a threat in the west. Duncan’s getting older and with Parker injured this team isn’t going to cut it. Ginobili is good coming off the bench, Jefferson is a nice addition and rookie Blair is producing but it isn’t enough for the competitive west.

llperezIt’s not just you. They aren’t scaring anybody. They’ll win 50 and maybe advance in the playoffs, but Manu and tim are both showing their age, Parker doesn’t look ready to be a guy who carries a team. Jefferson has never been a major difference maker.

youngmagParticipantThey have lost there defensive step yes they have to switch there style up also Duncan and Parker been playin hurt just haven’t noticed it but they will get it together….they are still the 2nd or 3rd best team in the west watch them pick it up towards mid season.

sheltwon3ParticipantI dont think they are. At one point i thought I could say that but now I think most of the great teams in the West and East could easily beat the Spurs and also the demise of the Phoenix Sun may have been inaccurate.

Chicago1980ParticipantThe spurs are gonna be just fine they are still a good team they have a couple of injuries to tim and parker but in the end they will be a top team in the west its only been 2 weeks teams start of slow sometimes not every team jumps out and wins 7 of their first 8 games.

NYK2010ParticipantProbably a combination of adjusting to new players, Duncan not playing like himself and the injuries.
Anyhow they’ve never been a great regular season team especially now with older veterans.
They still beat the Raptors w/out Duncan & Parker.0 - Posted on: Tue, 11/10/2009 - 4:15am #228312
quincey hodgesif you watch them you will notice that pops takes his starters out alot. there team is more built for the playoffs because they already know they are gonna get there so what pop is doing is rest his guys for some games during the regular season so they are more healthy come playoffs..they still are gonna try to win games but it not as important. manu is only playing 25min a game and the other starters are all playing in the 20’s..that right there let you know they are more about resting there guy for the big show

Chicago1980ParticipantThey are a playoff tested team like someone said they just sleep walk through the regular season they can easily win 50 games but Popovich cares about his players being ready for the playoffs and they do have a lot of new faces on the team so that is a big thing that they have to get past but they should be rolling along by January like they always do and they did beat toronto without parker or duncan last night they looked like the suns shooting 3’s and running up and down the court.

sheltwon3ParticipantThe don’t have the talent level to do that in the playoffs anymore and their defense has gotten worst. They won that Raptors game but they gave up so many points. You can’t do that against the great teams and win not in the West.

quincey hodgesyeah anyone who has watched the spurs knows that they start out slow then picks it up near the end of the season..and they won that rapros game and gave up points but the raptors made 11 threes and shot abut 60percent..sometimes you gonna run into a hot team bu tif you still beat a team when they play at there best then thats saying something…they must have got it together though because they kept a very powerful offense in dallas to 83points

sheltwon3ParticipantI saw that and I was impressed. Their young guys show promise but I dont see them on the Lakers and Denver level right now. They may be on the Phoenix and Portland level.
