L.ShapParticipantThe Knicks!
Not a Knicks fan so I am not biased, but who think’s Chris Paul’s time in New Orleans is ending sooner than we think? New York has the contracts to pull it, it’s just whether New Orleans would.Completely hypothetical… or is it?

llperezPaul will either leave via free agency or someone will throw some real solid trade at New Orleans. People need to quit with the trade talks that revolve around expiring contracts or throw in parts for Chris Paul. If a 30+ year old KG can land a young all-star(jefferson) a top 10 pick and a solid role player like Gomes, then you better believe Paul will get quality back in a trade. What do the Knicks have? They don’t have a lottery pick next year. Gallo would be a start, but you better believe they would need to include more then that.

JNixonParticipant^^^^I agree completely, it’s going to take 1 or even 2 young key core members and and expiring contract to land Paul. This isn’t your average player, he’s a top 5 player in basketball, it’s not going to be a salary dump, your going to have to give up someone that’s young and has a future.

L.ShapParticipantYes, obviously not just a salary dump when I said “expiring contracts”,
I mean somehow if they could get Galinari, Jordan Hill, Toney Douglas, expiring contracts and many picks.
Something of that sort.0 - Posted on: Mon, 11/09/2009 - 4:12pm #228209

llperezhey iggy, you watching Jrue right now?
0 - Posted on: Mon, 11/09/2009 - 4:15pm #228212

L.ShapParticipantJRUE! He was on fire. Unreal. I was speechless when he did that stepback J.

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantIt’s damn near impossible to trade Chris Paul right now and get equal value. We should focus on some trades to get him some help. How about this trade:
Nick Young and Mike James for James Posey and a healthy Ike Diogu

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantMy bad, double post.

JNixonParticipantI think they’d have to give up Douglass and Harrington I know.

JNixonParticipantYes, I’ve been watching the whole game. Jrue has looked very impressive, I must say. But they are making me mad right now.

L.ShapParticipantUgh… They blew it.

L.ShapParticipantSorry we got a bit off topic.
I would love to see Nick Young on the Hornets!0 - Posted on: Mon, 11/09/2009 - 4:37pm #228224

JNixonParticipantHe would be a great player for them, esp. with their need of offense. He’s a great talent offensively, he just needs PT.

sheltwon3ParticipantChris Paul just needs some help as if Wizards continue to play subpar there may be trades. Nick Young and Paul in the back court would be good but the thing is Scott would not play Young because he values defense too much and that is why Morris Petterson is playing more than Thorton who would help New Orleans out more.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantI have said it before and I will repeat it. The Hornets need to throw everything they have at Gay when he is a FA. He would make this team an instant contender if they could get him and keep West/Okafor/Paul combo. They would challenge anyone around. Problem is, the Hornets arent willing to spend money so throw that out. Instead, they need to sit back and see if Evans proves he can be a better option at the 2 than Martin is for the Kings. If so, they could probably get him for fairly cheap. Maybe a couple picks, Collison or Thornton, along with Armstrong or Peja. Thats just my opinion on the Hornets situation.

GETMONEYParticipantnick young is a solid player but he aint gone help the hornets contend for a ring and if the hornets aint making moves to take the team to that status then they should trade cp3

llperezthe hornets are in a tough spot with some bad contracts. They need to get Peja, Morris Peterson, and James Posey off the books for them to be able to make some moves and improve the team Those guys combine to make about 25 million a year, that’s a lot of money that could be spent on a couple of guys that could really help.
