Strengths: A pass first, pass second point guard with good size, Liu has excellent court savvy at a young age. He has incredible court vision and the ability to find players with an array of creative passes through small holes in the defense. He likes to use the quick touch pass, and has a way of leading his defender with his body to open passing lanes. He is a good shooter, and can knock down the three, but usually doesnt like to create his own offense. Liu is very calm emotionally, and leads the offense very well.

Weaknesses: Liu sometimes makes risky decisions with the ball, trying to thread the needle with showtime passes. He needs to be a little bit quicker at assessing situations instead of just pulling the trigger on passes with a high degree of difficulty. He is a good dribbler, but can improve in this area. While he has good foot speed, he is just an average athlete. This raises questions about his NBA potential, especially on defense, although his height does help him in this area.
