West Virginia 2015 commit Levi Cook announced that he has reopened his recruitment.
“After speaking with my family and the coaching staff at WVU, I have decided, at this time, to reopen my recruitment,” he tweeted early Thursday morning. “I love my home state and WVU is still a viable option. My decision has nothing to do with Coach Huggins and his staff. I am looking forward to my senior season at Huntington Prep and the recruiting process.”
The 6-foot-10 in-state product committed to West Virginia two years ago. Since then Huggins has landed commitments from three-star point guard James Bolden and most recently, earned one from four-star power forward Esa Ahmad, ranked No. 69 overall by Rivals. Last week, Cook’s West Virginia Wildcats Select AAU teammate Brandon Knapper picked the Mountaineers, though, he won’t officially enroll until 2017.
Cook is considered a three-star prospect and currently holds only one other offer (Marshall).
