UConn announced Monday that it has received official signed letters of intent from two future members of the men's basketball family.

Steve Enoch and Jalen Adams will join the Huskies next season.

"We're very excited to have both these young men coming into our program," coach Kevin Ollie said in a released statement. "Not only are they quality basketball players, but quality people and outstanding student-athletes. I knew they will be great additions to our UConn family."

Both players are off to fast starts this season.

Enoch, a 6-foot-10, 220-pound forward, averaged 10 points and seven rebounds for St. Thomas More in two wins last weekend.

He spent his junior season playing for Norwalk High School, averaging 14.4 points, 11.4 rebounds and 3.4 blocks before transferring.

Adams, a 6-2, 170-pound combination guard from Roxbury, Mass., won most valuable player honors while leading Brewster Academy to the New Hampshire Prep Classic title last weekend. He finished with 22 points in a 75-72 win over Notre Dame Prep.

Recruiting services consistently rank Adams among the top 25 players in his class.

Boatright earns honors

Monday was a good day for senior guard Ryan Boatright.

He was named to the Wooden Award Preseason Top 50 list, joining SMU junior Nic Moore as the only American Athletic Conference players to earn that distinction.

The AAC placed Boatright on the conference's weekly honor roll after he contributed 24 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals in a season-opening 66-53 victory over Bryant University on Friday.

Player of week honors went to Houston junior Devonta Pollard, who had a team-high 19 points and five rebounds in a 77-74 win at Murray State, the preseason favorite to capture the Ohio Valley Conference title.

Central Florida's B.J. Taylor was the conference's rookie of the week.

Poll position

Apparently, UConn's performance against Bryant didn't impress Associated Press top 25 voters.

The Huskies remained at 17th in the latest poll.

SMU is the only other AAC team in the top 25, sitting at No. 23.

Three of UConn's future opponents - No. 4 Duke, No. 8 Florida and No. 10 Texas - are ranked in the top 10.
