Saginaw Arthur Hill's bench provided the spark needed in a 69-28 win over Mount Pleasant in boys basketball on Tuesday.

Arthur Hill outscored Mount Pleasant 42-12 in the middle two quarters.

"We wanted more ball pressure, so we put Rocan Baker, De'Quevion Johnson and Billy Burton in and they picked up the pressure with their defense," Arthur Hill coach Greg McMath said. "We started getting turnovers and easy layups when they came in the game."

Sophomore shooting guard Brian Bowen tallied a double-double for Arthur Hill with 14 points and 14 rebounds, adding three blocks.

"He's a very versatile kid," McMath said. "He can stuff the stat sheet and does everything well. He's a very unique player and is one of those Swiss Army knives that can do a lot of different things for you."

Eric Davis, a senior point guard, led Arthur Hill with a game-high 16 points, while adding eight assists and three rebounds.

"He probably played his best all-around game for us," McMath said. "We know he can score, but for us to go to the next level we need him to play defense and distribute the ball at a higher level.

"We know he can score, but I want him to do other things. Once he does that, he's going to make us a complete and a lot better team."

Kalebb Perry and Noah Ingram led Mount Pleasant, with each scoring seven points.

Arthur Hill hosts Bay City Western on Thursday, before playing Muskegon on Saturday.

"We've got a pretty tight week," McMath said. "We're just looking to see where we're at and continue to play games at a higher level.

"We've got five games in eight days and see where we are and where we can improve heading into the break."
