Akoy Agau will be transferring out of the Louisville program. The news was first reported by WRDB in Louisville.
Agau had lost his spot in the rotation this season, and with the number of talented young big men currently in the program, it did not look like he was ever going to get it back. He played in just three games this season.
Agau was the No. 87 recruit in the Class of 2013, picking Louisville over Nebraska, among others. He’s quite talented, but he could never gain a footing within the program. As one source close to the program put it, he “lacks confidence” and has “no killer instinct”. When you’re competing with Montrezl Harrell and Chinanu Onuaku for playing time, that’s an easy way to fid yourself buried on the bench.
