Brandon Clarke Desert Vista Sr. F: The San Jose recruit embodied the improvement the Thunder made in Tony Darden’s first year.
Markus Howard Perry So. G: The state’s leading scorer (32.4) has unbelievable range and will state career points record.
Cameron Satterwhite G. Christian Jr. F: Was an integral part of the Knights’ run to the Division II championship.
Player of the Year: Alex Barcello , Corona del Sol
Coach of the the Year: Tony Darden, Desert Vista. Took a program that languished mostly at a mediocre level and took them to the DI state title game in his first year.
Second Team
Dane Kuiper Corona del Sol Sr. F: Probably didn’t get as much credit as he deserved in helping Corona to its last two titles.
Sean Wood Marcos de Niza Sr. F: Averaged a double-double (17.0/10.2) and three steals to become one of DIIs top players.
Carter Aby Combs Sr. F: Led Combs to the school’s first state title appearance in any sport behind 19.6 points, 14.9 rebounds.
Amiri Chukwuemeka McClintock Jr. G: Followed up last year’s 21.8 ppg by averaging 25.2 points a game to lead the Chargers to 18 wins
DeLano Jones Tempe Sr. G: Part of the tough 1-2 combo with Emmanuel Gant the Buffaloes brought to the court most nights.
