USA joined by three Europeans in U19 Worlds Semi-Finals 

HERAKLION (2015 FIBA U19 World Championship) - The reigning champions United States were joined by three Europeans in reaching the Semi-Finals of the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship with both final four games promising plenty of intrigue. 

The United States will face off against hosts Greece while Turkey and Croatia will square off in a re-match of the Semi-Finals of the 2014 U18 European Championship.

Four players scored in double figures as the USA convincingly beat Italy86-65, with Harry Giles notching his third straight double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. 

Greece were given a tough test by Spain but prevailed 70-59 thanks to a 37-17 second half run. Tyler Dorsey scored all 14 of his points in the second half while Kostas Mitoglou had 11 points and 11 rebounds. 

The other Semi-Final will be an all-European battle as Turkey booked their first-ever Semi-Final berth with an 81-70 win over Australia thanks to a 19-2 run in the fourth quarter. Furkan Korkmaz paced the spurt and finished with 15 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals. 

Croatia reached their first Semi-Final since 2009 with an 84-71 victory over Canada as Marko Arapovic collected 20 points, 11 rebounds, six assists and two steals.

In the Classification 5-8 games, Canada will take on Australia and Italy will play Spain. 

The Classification 9-16 round also started with Argentina and Korea winning their first games of the tournament while Egypt and Serbia also picked up wins.

Argentina beat Dominican Republic71-66, as Rodrigo Gerhardt collected 10 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals. 

Korea picked up their first win over fellow Asian side China77-54, with Kim Kyung Won scoring 26 points to go with eight rebounds. 

Egypt won the battle of African teams with Tunisia81-68, as Ahmed Khalaf had 17 points, 17 rebounds and six blocks. 

And Serbia got past Iran83-70, with Milos Glisic scoring 16 points and grabbing eight rebounds.

In Saturday's Classification 9-12 games, Argentina will face Egypt while Serbia take on Korea. 

The Classification 13-16 action will see Dominican Republic squaring off with Tunisia and China playing Iran.
