Tristan Clark has watched Baylor make the NCAA basketball tournament the last two years and envisions the day when he can lead the Bears there.
The 6-8 Clark became the Bears’ first verbal commitment in the 2017 class Friday night.
Clark will play at Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nev., as a junior this year after transferring from San Antonio Judson. The athletic forward believes his size and mobility will be a good fit in the Bears’ high-tempo attack.
“I’ve watched Baylor the last two years and I can see they’re an up-tempo team,” Clark said. “I think it fits the kind of player I am. I also think I can play in their zone.”
With his versatility, Clark will likely give the Bears several options where to play him. He’s a four-star recruit by Rivals.com.

Clark said he transferred to prestigious Findlay Prep to play top competition that will help him prepare to play as a freshman for Baylor coach Scott Drew in 2017-18.
“I like Coach Drew and I like the education I can get at Baylor,” Clark said. “I felt like this is the best fit for me.”
