High Point Christian Academy (High Point, N.C.) forward Edrice Adebayo got the nickname “Bam Bam” from his mother after he picked up a coffee table while watching The Flintstones when he was just 1.
Turned out to be a fitting alias for a player who nearly tears the rim off the hinges multiple times a game on ferocious dunks.

On Tuesday morning, Adebayo announced that he’d loosening rims for Kentucky next season.
Adebayo picked the Wildcats over N.C. State and Auburn.
“They’re a winning program, it’s just a great all-around environment,” Adebayo said of Kentucky on Mike & Mike. “I like the staff and I like Coach Cal.”
This past summer, Adebayo, who is ranked No. 6 overall in the ESPN 100, averaged 15 points and 10 rebounds a game for Team Loaded (N.C.) on the super-competitive adidas Gauntlet.

That paled in comparison to his dominance last season at Northside (Pinetown, N.C.), where he averaged 32.2 points and 21 rebounds a game.
Adebayo joins Cypress Lakes (Katy, Texs) point guard De’Aaron Fox, Virginia Episcopal School (Lynchburg, Va.) forward Sacha Killeya-Jones and Wilbraham & Monson (Wilbraham, Mass.) forward Wenyen Gabriel to form Kentucky’s 2016 haul so far.
“I’m just focused on college basketball,” Adebayo said. “I’m just worried about winning a national title.”
Adebayo and High Point Christian, ranked No. 12 in the Super 25, open their season tonight against New Garden Friends (Greensboro, N.C.).
