Baylor forward Jeremy Sochan declares for 2022 NBA draft

In his one season in Waco, he averaged 9.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.

Baylor freshman Jeremy Sochan announced on his Twitter account Friday that he will be declaring for the 2022 NBA draft.

“This season had a lot of ups and downs,” Sochan told ESPN. “We were unlucky with injuries, but it was a great opportunity for me to grow and an opportunity to show the NBA my toughness and versatility on both ends. I came into this season with intentions to make myself better and help the team win.”

Baylor lost its second round matchup in the NCAA Tournament this season to North Carolina in overtime. Sochan, a 6-9 forward, recorded a double-double in the game with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

In his one season in Waco, he was named Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year and made the Big 12 All-Freshman team after averaging 9.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.

He helped lead Baylor to a 27-7 record and a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
