Tavernari coming back to BYU

PROVO, Utah -- BYU forward Jonathan Tavernari has withdrawn his name from consideration for the NBA draft.

Tavernari did not hire an agent after declaring for the draft on April 22, so he can still return to BYU for his senior season.

Tavernari said in a release Wednesday that he talked with his family and coaches and decided to complete school and play another year of college before going pro.

He averaged 15.7 points last season and led the Cougars, who lost to Texas A&M in the first round of the NCAA tournament, with 85 3-pointers.

Tavernari had until June 15 to withdraw his name. The draft is June 25.
