The Oregon State Beavers had already collected a strong 2017 recruiting class with the additions of ESPN four-star guard Ethan Thompson and Wilsonville standout Zach Reichle, but they clearly aren't done yet.

On Tuesday, ESPN four-star prospect Alfred Hollins committed to Oregon State over offers from Arizona State, Colorado, DePaul, Florida State, LSU and Virginia Tech, as well as interest from Oregon.

The 6-foot-7, 195-pound small forward/stretch-4, out of Hillcrest Prep, announced his decision on Twitter:

This season, the explosive wing helped lead Hillcrest Prep to a national championship, alongside five-star post DeAndre Ayton, earning MVP honors of the semifinal contest again Prolific Prep with 18 points and six rebounds.

Here's what ESPN had to say about the versatile wing's abilities:

"Hollins is one of the more promising wing-types out west," the scouting report said. "The willowy scorer can score from all three levels, but he is at his best when shooting the 3-point shot."

For Hollins, his official visit to Oregon State made all the difference in his recruitment, as he not only trusted the coaching staff, but also bonded with the Beavers' young core.

"It was very open and everyone was happy for me and excited to get a new year going," he told The Oregonian earlier this month. "This year hasn't been the best, but next year things should turn around for the better. The coaching staff and players were really open and showed me around. It was very honest. They didn't sugarcoat anything and kept it upfront. I liked that. Honesty really helps you as a player. You don't want to go somewhere where the coaches tell you you're doing good when you're really not. The coaching staff there wouldn't do that."

Hollins' commitment represents a a huge pick-up for the Beavers, as he not only adds toughness to the lineup on the defensive end, but also pairs well with Reichle, an underrated shooting guard/small forward, and Thompson, Oregon State's highest-rated pledge in recent memory.

While Oregon State still hopes to add another big man into the mix, it has put together a class that is flirting with top-25 status nationally.

That ranking may have reached even higher had Reichle gotten his just due outside the state of Oregon.

Regardless, the Beavers have assembled a three-man class highlighted by its scoring ability and toughness on the defensive end of the floor.
