Forgive me for being a little excited, but I just watched 15-year-old Iziahiah Sweeney of Compton play in the championship game of the DeMar DeRozan tournament, and all I have to say is that he reminds me of a young Russell Westbrook when Westbrook was under the radar at Leuzinger.

Sweeney is a 6-foot-2 junior with a legitimate 40-inch vertical leap. He had two prolific dunks during a 67-54 loss to Bishop Montgomery. He has a 3.4 grade-point average, plays defense, can make a three-pointer and has a terrific motor.

College recruiters are going to be coming in droves when they see his upside. He’s got athleticism off the charts, and combine that with his grades and you have the makings of a perfect storm. All he needs is experience and more strength.
