Bishop Kearney's Chinonso Obokoh expected to play against Jamesville-DeWitt on Saturday (Syracuse recruit updates)

This is a weekly series looking at the high school players who have signed to play for Syracuse University next season.

Chinonso Obokoh, 6-9 forward/center, Bishop Kearney High School, Rochester, N.Y.
After missing five games due to a strained ligament in his right foot, Obokoh returned to action on Tuesday in Bishop Kearney's 52-49 loss to Webster Schroeder. Obokoh did not start, but he did play and scored eight points in 14 minutes.
Obokoh had played in Bishop Kearney's first two games of the season back in early December, but had been sidelined with the foot injury for over a month.
"It was a surprise to me,'' Bishop Kearney coach Jon Boon said. "He hadn't practiced at all. On Tuesday, the brace he was waiting on came in and he told a couple people that he wanted to play if I'd let him. I said if you're dressed, I'm going to play you, but you've got to be honest with me and let me know how you're doing.''
Bishop Kearney, which played St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute of Buffalo on Thursday, is scheduled to play at Jamesville-DeWitt on Saturday. The tip-off is at 2:30 p.m.
