Offers continue to pile up for four-star Marcus Bingham

Entering the spring, the recruitment of Marcus Bingham was flying a bit under the radar. Fast-forward two months and the offers for the Indy Spiece Heat standout continue to pile up.

Just one look at Bingham and there is no wonder why Butler, Washington, Xavier, Purdue and Michigan State have offered the Rivals150 junior. Bingham can oftentimes be the forgotten man when playing alongside a handful of four- and five-star talents, but it's impossible to deny his upside.

While his recruitment is just beginning to pick up, Bingham spoke on a few of the programs that have already offered.

Michigan State: “They were just telling me that I played like a lot like the players that they have had in the past like Adreian Payn and Draymond Green, which really excited me.”

Butler: “I had been there before for a game but I had not seen all the facilities. It is just something about Hinkle Fieldhouse that just excites me. When I go there, I definitely get some good vibes.”

Purdue: “It is like Michigan State a little bit for me. When I went up there for a game, it was just so loud. I love playing like that with big crowds. I almost had a headache because of how loud it was.”

Washington: “It is a Pac-12 school and real far away. I didn’t even know that they would be watching me. It kind of surprised me. Coach (Mike) Hopkins texts me every two days.”

WHAT'S NEXT

Bingham will hope to add more to his collection of scholarship offers in the coming weeks and months as the Rivals150 junior is expected to see a giant bump during the next update of the 2018 class rankings thanks to his recent play and monumental potential.

In the meantime, he will finish out his final summer on the travel circuit with the Indy Spiece Heat 17-under team.

RIVALS' REACTION

Even though we ranked Bingham as a four-star prospect entering the spring, it looks today as if we greatly underranked him. While he does have to become more consistent and grow further into his body, he has special upside. Look for a number of Midwest powers to prioritize the Spiece forward this summer as his recruitment continues. It does seem, at this point, as if Michigan State, Purdue, Xavier and Butler have a better chance than many others.
