Austin Grandstaff received an offer this past weekend from Florida when he took an unofficial visit to Gainesville for the rivalry game against Kentucky.

Grandstaff, ranked No. 39 in the Class of 2015 by 247 Sports, says that Florida made a big impression.

“The fans were great,” Grandstaff told SNY.tv. “I learned that Coach (Billy) Donovan does a great job in player development. I learned that Florida is really a basketball school. Their fans are really crazy, and they have a great group of guys there.”

Listed at 6-foot-5, Grandstaff is a threat off the bounce, as well as shooting from deep, and he says Donovan told him he would have the role of a scorer at the next level, should he chose to go to play for the Gators.

“He said they needed a scorer in my class,” Grandstaff said. “He thought that I would fit in very well with my system. Because I decommitted (from Oklahoma State), he told me to take my time with my recruiting process, but he said they they really want me.”

Grandstaff currently has offers from Florida, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Alabama, Arizona, Georgetown, Ohio State, Virginia, Washington, Iowa State, UNLV, Texas A&M, Xavier, Creighton, Marquette, UMass, Oregon and Western Kentucky.

He will play for Team Texas Elite this summer on the EYBL Circuit.
