Hopkins to a dramatic 49-46 victory over Shakopee in the a Minnesota
Class AAAA state semifinal game played at the Target Center.
With two seconds remaining and the score knotted 46-46, Coffey took the inbounds pass from under his own hoop.
With
a defender in pursuit, he dribbled twice and, well behind half-court,
heaved a desperation attempt that, if unsuccessful, would have sent the
game into a fifth overtime.
Somehow, the shot swished in, and Coffey, his teammates and Hopkins fans erupted as Hopkins claimed a stunning 49-46 victory.
