darkman97ParticipantI’m very new to this sport. Even though some times I still have to turn my head I enjoy watching. With the popularity of this sport does anyone seeing this as a future Olympic sport? I think it’s time to do it. I watch UFC sometimes and notice the different countries this fighters are from and it’s global. Any feedback? Is it big enough to become that? Now? Near future? Not so near Future or Never?

llperezit is growing in a number of countries. I think the popularity is there. But i just don’t really seei it as an Olympic type event. Unlike wrestling or boxing where you have matches that often go the distanec, there is just too many eraly stoppages and quick KO’s in mma. Knees, elbows, chokes and punches with 4 oz gloves make it a brutal sport that does not translate to the olympic atmosphere. Also, each guy could probably only fight once and then would have to be out for the rest the competition.
Besides, as of right now, it would be USA and Brazil and then every other country would be fighting for third.

darkman97ParticipantYeah you are right on the fact that the fighters would only be able to fight one time. No way this could happen but it would’ve been fun.

darkman97ParticipantI only watch UFC but I like Rashad Evans and Anderson Silva. I don’t know much yet so names are still new to me but those two I know.
