esperanzafleet69Participantprobably wall, but he is still highly unproven. although i think both players could possibly quadruple double sometime in their carrers with pts, ast, reb, and stl. both are extremely gifted players on defense, but i think westbrooks offense relies a lot on his athletic ability. john wall is a little bit more naturally skilled offensively it seems..

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantI always find it hard to go against UCLA players though…In this case I pick young Pg D Wade over Baron’s best case scenario( Wall over Westbrook )

B-ball fanParticipantWall. I think he has more pg skills than Westbrook, or at least will for most of his career. He is superior to the player Westbrook was at that age. Westbrook is the much superior defensive player, though. Wall should develop into a good defender, but he isn’t at Westbrook’s level, at least for now.

boxn1ParticipantWall, he has the intangible "it". Guys will want to play with him, and play hard for and with him. It isn’t talent really for me, because westbrook is resturant quality good, but its like Tom Brady,he plays with the right kind of emotion that fuels the rest of the team. But westbrook would look really nice in the Piston red, white, and blue……

blackflash234ParticipantWall without a question. I love Westbrook and he’s probably my favourite point guard in the league but there’s something about John Wall that just stands out. His playmaking skills is at a level that is umprecidented for rookies. So imagine how he’ll be like in just 3 years..

BasterdInABasketParticipantWall for sure…Both guys worry me about their half court offense but Wall is so much further ahead than westbrook at the same point in their career and hes a few years younger. Only thing Westbrook would have on Wall is 1 on 1 D but with the tools Wall has he has potential to be a great man defender.

IndianaBasketballParticipantNot saying he’s a top three point guard right now, but I’d probably pick Wall over every point guard except Chris Paul and Deron Williams to start my franchise.

SwatLakeCityParticipantIndyBasketball, You’d pick Wall over Rondo? or Wall over Rose? If so, why? I know I wouldn’t, even if Wall is younger than both Rondo and Rose. I think Rose has more potential than Wall, and Rondo has championship experience, which is just irreplaceable.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI didn’t know we were picking based on championships, etc. I thought we were picking as if they all were prospects and we had to choose one.
Wall has the best of all world’s in my opinion. Long arms like Rondo. Speed, quickness and similar athleticism of Rose/Westbrook. Gary Payton’s height. He has excellent defensive potential. He’s fearless. Unselfish. He has great court vision and is just a natural playmaker.
The thing that stands out to me about him the most is that he is mature beyond his years. He’s already a vocal leader. Rose is shy and quiet. Rondo has been known to rub his teammates the wrong ways in the past due to his arrogance and stubborness.
He has everything you want in a young point guard, but that’s my opinion.

WizardofOzParticipantIf I had to choose between all of the young PG’s like Rondo, Westbrook, Wall, and Rose in their ROOKIE SEASONS, not now, I would choose Wall. They all basically have the same speed and quickness, but John Wall is taller & longer than all of them. Rondo struggled a bit in his rookie season. He only started 25 games and he only started to flourish when the Boston 3 Party came. Rondo isn’t te scorer Wall is, but is a purer PG than him. Rose had a good rookie season, but he wasn’t as good of a jump shooter as Wall is right now. I don’t know if anyone has watched the past few Wizards games, but I have, and Wall has been making his jump shots. Teams have been sagging off him, and he’s making them pay. I think he has definitely improved his jumper over the offseason and preseason. I don’t remember im shooting this good in the SL and preseason. Back to the debate. Westbrook had a good rookie season, but he isn’t the facilitator that Wall is and isn’t as good a shooter. Westbrook is a better defender, but Wall has the potantial to also become an All-NBA defender.
Of course they are all better than Wall right now because they have more experience, but in a few years, Wall has the chance to surpass all of them.

SwatLakeCityParticipantI didn’t know we were picking the PG from their rookie seasons. In that case Rondo is definitely out of the question. But I still have a tough time deciding between Rose, Westbrook, and Wall. Westbrook has the defense that Wall has. They all are not great 3pt shooters. They all are fast, and they all can pass the ball extremely well. I guess after being a Jazz fan I tend to like the leaders that are shy. Just because you’re shy doesn’t mean you can’t be a good leader.

joecheck88Participanti think we are picking as if we started a draft today and could only pick point guards in the first round, based off of skill, athleticism, size, potential, and age. who would you then take? considering this is the face of your franchise and you are trying to build a championship team. wall is 20, rose 22, westbrook 21, rondo 24ish, williams and paul around 26 who would you take? obviously williams and paul are more nba ready, rose can take over scoring, westbrook is a beast but raw, rondo is a great passer with almost 0 scoring ability and wall is taller, just as quick but very unproven.
so that being said, who would you take? with westbrook, rose and wall u may not win as much now. with paul and williams you have vets but with only 6(guesstimate) years of dominant ball left. i think rondo at this point shouldnt be picked because we have no proof he can score or hit big free throws.
im taking wall based off his length, athletic ability, defensive potential, and playmaking skills. he will be a dominant pg for the next 12 years(atleast) and can pass on a level that already exceeds westbrook and rose. he is a better natural scorer than westbrook, better defender than rose, way younger than paul and williams and a better scorer than rondo(which helps on teams with less talent thhan the celtics).
