Recently Rudy Gobert, Jusuf Nurkic, and Hassan Whiteside have been playing extremely well. Each of them bring different styles of play to the table. Whiteside is the oldest, but all three seem to have lots of potential.

Who do you think has the best chance of reaching his potential?  Either way, it’s good to see some true bigs showing some promise in today’s finesse-dominated game.

I’m waiting for Lopez and Garnett to make way for Plumlee.

Yeah, I forgot about Plumlee who has also been playing great. Alex Len has shown some major flashes lately as well.

Goberts game today was impressive. In 28 minutes managed to go for 13 points, 18 rebs, 4 blocks and 2 asts. Probably a lot of rim intimidation as well. I’d bet the NBA people wish they could do a redraft. Gobert would go lottery.

We all knew that Gobert would block some shots, but his assists and FT% are really surprising!

I have been very impressed with Alex Len as of late. Also Mason Plumlee if given consistent starter type minutes

Tyler Zeller has shown some great games. I think Gobert has the most potenital out of all of the bigs. Mirotic has also been a pleasent surprise I really like his game.

It’s an exciting time for people who like to watch good centres play the game, for a while the centre has been the weakest position in a league, but now  there is a really impressive number of young bigs that are still improving and could potentially be stars/all-stars/very good starters in the near future.

The list of potentially very good centres is truly impressive: DeMarcus Cousins (24 y.o.), Andre Drummond (21 y.o.), Rudy Gobert (22 y.o.), Nikola Vucevic (24 y.o.), Derrick Favors (23 y.o.), Jusuf Nurkic (20 y.o.), Mason Plumlee (24 y.o.), Alex Len (21 y.o.)

Then have centres that are yet to play a game but have great potential: Joel Embiid (20 y.o.), Jahlil Okafor (19 y.o.), Karl Towns (19 y.o.).

Steven Adams should get some consideration as well. I really hoped he would sniff a double bouble when the roster was messed up at the start of the year but he couldn’t really elevate this team a this point of his career.

But my subjective okc view says he does pretty well too overall if you consider how raw he still is but really earned his minutes and moved Perk to the bench finally and ultimately. He is one of the youngest players in this group and might still be one of the physically strongest players overall in the league. Honestly I can’t think of many players this strong. Perk, Pek, Noah, Gasol, Z-Bo, Zwight (already peak or even twighlight Dwight) are all beasts but in my opinion Adams is already there not even mentioningnthat he truely loves to wrestle around the rim ON BOTH ends.

The worst projection for him could be the ultimate glue guy there putting up good numbers playing up to 25 mins. This might be te case if the Thunder consider bringing in someone like Lopez. Best case scenario is a starting role long term peaking at some point with Chris Kaman (Stats Only, not playing style!) on a contender at 15-16/10-11/3apg/2-3,5bpg. Gobert, Drummond, Vucevic(! – most impressive stats to me) all have the tools to shine as well. Team fits play a huge role going foreward and Adams future looks fantastic!

Gobert has the potenital to be a true defensive anchor and I think Nurkic is very skilled offensively, especially taking into consideration he only started playing when he was 14.

Maybe I am a bit biased (Nurkic played in my hometown team for a season) but I think he will be a very good player.
