To me they are still really local. They also originated in NY. The train system will get u directly in the building.

Doubt it. I would look at it like a slap in the face from the franchis. Not sure who I would root for

I live in Oklahoma and I would still root for the Thunder if they left. It’s the only professional sports team we’ve ever had, so even if they left they’d still be my team. I still root for the Hornets as well because of their short time in OKC.

I am from Seattle, and it has been very painful since the Sonics have left, and moved on to OKC…especially considering the unique destruction of the team by Clay Bennett.  The answer to this question lies within how cynically you view things, and if the fan feels any true connection to the players.

I still favor OKC, and while it helps how explosive they are, I will tell you right now…IT IS NOT THE SAME!!! (Jersey to Brooklyn would be more manageable though imo).  I cannot and will not root for the Thunder organization ever.  But i do root for past Sonics’ success, such as Durant and Collison (HE should get some recognition as a Sonic when he retires)…as well as Westbrook because he is too exciting not too wish he wore a Sonic uniform at some point in his past.

The Sonic situation also has left a lot (EVERY NBA fan) of fans pissed due to OKC owning the rights to all past Sonic awards and achievements…I mean C’MON!!! That is just straight horse shit.

I think it depends mainly on the teams players,  and relocation (WHO WANTS TO ROOT FOR OKC WHEN YOUR NOT IN OKC?!!!).  But also on how the fan’s feel the team left, besides the obvious disappointment.  In the New Jersey situation I believe they keep nearly their whole fan base…it’s really not that big of a move

^^^ I agree that the whole sonic was bs and it was plain wrong that even non sonic fans were mad, I used nj as an example as im a nets fan, I just wanted to know how people felt about it.Also nwk2bk i live in nc, i lived in nj for a long time before moving here, and since i dont really like nc, i root for all nj teams, i knew they were the ny nets in the aba, but when nj has 2 pro sports team and NY has about 2 in every league, that annoys me.Plus Bruce Ratner ran the nets into the ground because all he wanted to do was make money and find someone to buy them so he could sell them the right to the barclay center(which he company will build, thats some bs)

Also this is an opinion thread dont neg wizardofoz because he said NO, thats how he feels and I sort of feel the same way
