Da1potParticipantIf the Heat lose to the Wizards tonight, I think Erik Spoelstra will be fired, at the request of Lebron James and Dwayne Wade. Washington is 5-10 and while that is not completely horrible, this is still a game the Heat should win- especially if John Wall, Al Thornton and Yi do not play. Any thoughts on what this game means to the Heat and what might happen if they lose????

SwatLakeCityParticipantHe should have been fired when they lost to the Pacers by double digits. That loss was just inexcusable.

SupParticipantWe need to start a website to for Erik Spoelstra so that he can keep his job. This is the 5th coach Lebron has gotten fired. I mean think about it he is just flying around the country switching from team to team getting coaches fired. Absurd.

SupParticipantAnd while we’re on topic, since when are you allowed to hit/bump your coach, no investigation no fine? Tell that to Latrell Sprewell.

JNixonParticipantThe Heat will beat the Wizards I think. They really only struggle when they play teams with tough D, and I very seriously doubt the Wizards will play tough enough on D.
I do think Spoelstra is the wrong coach for this team though, and he should be fired. I just doubt it comes after the Wizards game.

bdoody42ParticipantIts funny that that the players don’t seem to think that they are at all responsible. Fans as well…. the coach is the coach but the players are ones who play. The team turns the ball over way to much… and are caught either watching wade or james when the have the ball. When james has the ball wade watches and vice versa. Im pretty sure this sint a coaching error.

butidonthavemoneyWhat a bunch of crap.
The coach is going to get fired just so LeBron can have a scapegoat.
It doesn’t matter who’s coaching. James and Wade still have no idea how to play off each other. I honestly don’t believe that Jackson, Rivers, Sloan or Popovich could get these two to play in an organized system.
Spoelstra’s not a great coach or anything, but I think it’s ridiculous that people want to blame him for all of the Heat’s problems.

dmo21ParticipantIt seems that Lebron and maybe D-Wade think they are above the coach, and you cant have that on the team. Everyone needs to know the caoch is the boss, the top dog, the guy you listen to and respect. Lebron is trying to take over the whole team and he wont be happy until he is the top player, coach, and gm of the team.

creepingdefParticipantPeople tend to forget that Miami actually clinched the 5th seed in the playoffs, with Spoelstra coaching. He isn’t that bad, Dwyane Wade has been a vocal supporter of him.
The reason the Heat aren’t that great are:
1. Crap supporting cast
2. LeBron and Wade need the ball in their hands to create shots
3. Enormous expectations (Van Gundy saying they’d beat 72-10 and never lose two in a row, wtf)
4. An entirely new team that has yet to gel
Whenever teams win people put emphasis on players, whenever teams lose people put emphasis on the coach.

WizardofOzParticipantJust finished watcging the game. I expected the Wizards to lose this game. I wanted the Wizards to win this game, but when your team loses so much, the fanboy gets taken out of you a bit. I didn’t get to watch the whole game, but I watched a good deal of it, and the big 3 went off. The Wizards played tough defense, but the big 3 got to the line whenever they wanted too. The Wizards were banged up a good bit though, being without John Wall, Al Thornton, Yi Jianlian, losing Hilton Armstrong midway throug the game, and JaVale McGee ot playing at 100%. If the Heat lost this game, I think there would be an 85% chance Coach Spoelstra would get fired this week.
