The Knicks and Wizards are trying to work a deal that would send Hughes back to Washington in a swap for #5. The Knicks would also have to take on the expiring contracts of Mike James and Etan Thomas. They could then in turn, trade #’s 5 and 8 to Memphis for #2 Ricky Rubio.

I like the trade but dont want to trade both picks for #2.

Why would Washington trade #5 for Hughes? Makes no sense.

Wouldn’t be a too bad of a trade if Larry Hughes wasn’t so injury prone because he is a pretty good player.

The Wizards love injury prone players, so they’ll probably do it.

The problem is that the Knicks would loveeee to hit the accept button on this trade. They know Larry Hughes isnt a big part of their team. Hes still pretty good but hes not in the Knicks plans at all. So the if the wizards do this they are just being suckered into because larry hughes doesnt equal a 5th pick in Donnie Walsh’s book, so this would be a steal for the knicks if it goes down. Im a wizard fan and i say please God, do not allow this. We need more value in return. maybe david lee after we give them the 5th pick etan thomas, mike james, and nick young. Thats more legit

this really isnt that bad of a trade for both teams. larry hughes steps right in as the SG and the wizards make the playoffs again. NY gets a ton of rookie potential but i dont see why they would trade the 5 and 8 for the 2nd even if it happens. thats a whole lot to give up. Jordan Hill and Curry arent worth Rubio imo. Rubio will be good and perhaps even great in Mike Ds system but so will hill and curry

In this most recent report, Jeffries wasnt mentioned. Washington has already said that nobody at 5 can help them right now. They think that they have the players to compete with anyone right now. They want to make a run while they can. Hughes is better than anybody you can get at 5 will be for a few years. Donnie is looking at it that he’s going to let Hughes go next year anyways. Good deal for both teams. I’d love to steal McGee and Young from them for Jeffries too.

I love if the Knicks get the 5th and 8th pick. That means we could add Hill and a PG like Flynn. Knicks looking good for 2010!

    We should do a

2010 2nd rounder, Eddy Curry and Quentin Richardson for 3th pick and expiring contracts.
