whateverParticipantRight now the T-wolves hold the worst record in the nba. Assuming they get the number 1 pick who would you draft?
Although this website has Derrick Williams as the number 1 draft pick he is compared to Michael Beasley, so why draft Williams if you actually have Beasley on your team. So I would draft Irving. So what happens to Rubio? it is well-known he doesnt even want to play in Minny so I would look to move him for a SG or a C. The Clippers right now have 2 Cs cappable of improving the Wolves starting 5 (Kaman and Jordan). So I would look to move Rubio and Pekovic for Kaman. If Im the Clippers I would probably accept getting a young PG with a grat potential and maybe look to move Mo for an experienced SF for example Shawn Marion. It is well known that JKidd will be 39 years old next year and the Mavs desperetaly need a replacement, Mo Williams may be a solution at least in the short-term. So bottom line Minnesota would have a nice team with
PG: Kyrie Irving, Flynn and Ridnour
SG: Wesley and Ellington
SF: Beasley and Webster
PF: Love and Randolph
C: Kaman and Milicic
The Clippers would be also better:
PG: Rubio, Bledsoe
SG: Gordon, Foye
SF: Marion, Aminu, Gomes, Moon
PF: Griffin, Diogu, Smith
C: Jordan and Pekovic
and the Mavs will get a 10 years younger PG to replace Kidd and still keep Buttler and Peja in the SF postion.
Although it is highly unlikely to happen for me is a win-win-win situation but i would like to hear opinions.

BKKnicksfanParticipantIf your Minnesota and you win the #1 pick in the draft, I’d call Philadelphia and see if they would do a trade involving Evan Turner

whateverParticipantYes actually that was my first thought but you would need a third team since Philly has a very talented young PG in Holliday.

whateverParticipantI was avoiding 3 team deals actually although three teams are involved in my suggestion there are two different deals and the first one doesnt depend on the second one.

BKKnicksfanParticipantHow about this? Golden State, Philadelphia, Minnesota
- Golden State gets Wesley Johnson, Anthony Tolliver, Andres Nocioni
- Philadelphia gets 1st overall pick and Darko Milicic
- Minnesota gets Evan Turner, Mareese Spieghts and a 2013 1st round pick (GSW)
Philadelphia gets the 1st pick, a center who’s respectable as a backup
Golden State gets a respectable defensive SG in Johnson, which also allows you to potentially move Ellis
Minnesota gets 2 respectable young players at key positions, and a 1st round pick

goneParticipantWes johnson is a SF tho…..The general idea is ok tho how about wes for turner and swap picks

BKKnicksfanParticipantWes Johnson played SG more for Minnesota then SF. He is a SF, but is a better defensive SG from what I saw.

SwatLakeCityParticipantFrom what I hear Rubio does want to play for Minny. Its suspected that he won’t play for Minny but I’ve heard the exact opposite, and I even heard that he’s willing to come over if the season is shortened because of a lockout. Kahn loves Rubio, but is willing to get rid of Flynn. I don’t think Kahn would draft Irving unless he plans on trading the pick. He loves Rubio way too much and totally believes he will be the next Steve Nash. This is not what I would want if I were the Wolves but this is what Kahn wants which is all that matters. So for Kahn if he won the first pick, he would probably pick Enes Kanter even though he shouldn’t go first, knowing Kahn, he’d do it even though it is probably the stupidest thing to do with the first pick.

whateverParticipantI think u r right thats the most possible scenario, I was just saying what i would do if it was up to me

M-DYMESParticipantAs a t-wolves fan I’d rather see what Rubio can do and let Pekovic develop than trade them for an aging (he’ll be up there by the time we are really competing) and injury prone Kaman. Pekovic could be solid if he limits his fouling habit.

whateverParticipantso what would you do the only alternative i see is reaching for Kanter or clugging a position either the PG or SF?

sheltwon3ParticipantMinny finding a way to get Turner would be solid. Webster would make a better starting 3 than Beasley next to Turner. I think Minny should trade Beasley now while his stock is kinda high and move Flynn. I would keep Wesley for a while but play him behind Turner and Webster
Rubio/Ridnour/Telfair
Turner/Ellington/Johnson
Webster/Johnson
Love/Randolph/Tolliver
Darko/Pekovic/Tolliver
They need help at 2 guard and Center
I am sure they can turn their 1st round pick into Turner and possibly move Beasley/Flynn for Center
As good as Beasley has shown, he is not a good fit if they wish to continue to give Love big minutes which makes sense. Webster and Johnson are both better defenders and Webster can score in the range of Beasley if given the shots. Turner would compliment them well. I know this will not happen but as a GM you have to think about building a team and not just putting talent together and hoping it will come together. Minny does not have any more room for young players except for at the 2 and the 5. The could get a young 2 in Turner for a draft pick or the right to swap picks so they move down to grab the player the want

sheltwon3ParticipantIf Rubio is coming over, there is nobody in the top 5 that can help them now with their current line up. They need to make some key moves and everyone knows that Flynn is on the blocks. I wonder what team will take him. Also could you imagine Phoenix moving Robin Lopez for Beasley. They could put Beasley at the 3 or the 4 in that offense. They could also go for some lesser players like Gani Lawal.

OhCanada-ParticipantSo what this tells me is that Minnesota has Harrison Barnes easily #1 on their draft board if he declares. What makes you think Barnes cant play SG and help Mnnesota.

BKKnicksfanParticipantWhat makes you think Barnes cant play SG and help Mnnesota.
Barnes isn’t a SG….at all. Wes Johnson can get away with it because he’s a surpreme defender.

sheltwon3ParticipantSince when did Barnes say he was coming out. Also until Barnes works on his ball handling, he is not really a good 2. I think he stays and works on that and can be a solid swingman though.

elevation1013ParticipantIf I were the T-wolves with the 1st pick I would try and trade down with the raptors for Calderon and their first. That would give Rubio the ideal mentor to learn the position from and should allow them to take Kanter with the Raps pick. The Raptors would get the best player in the in Irving draft to pair with Derozen in the backcourt and rid themselves of Jose and his contract. Twolves would have to give up Webster or someone else to make the money match, but I think this would be a great trade for both sides.

TeamShowtimeLakersParticipanti would want minnesota to see what they have in rubio b4 they trade him…but i like this scenario.
