Who does everyone think will make the biggest gains in draft position by playing well in the tournament? Also, who falls the most? It seems to me that guards that can lead their team to wins get huge increases every year. There are a ton of guards that are borderline first round picks this year that could make gains with a couple good showings. My favorites to most likely to raise their stock are Tyreke Evans and Terrence Williams. Players who I think could drop a lot if their teams don’t win are Gerald Henderson, Jeff Teague, and maybe Stephen Curry in the NIT. Also, I think Marcus Thornton could make the biggest gains of anyone if LSU makes a run.

Rise- IF he plays well and gets through a round or two USC’s Demar Derozan could end up a top ten pick

Fall- Again another IF. James Harden, he is already slipping a bit so if he cant get out the first round or has a decent/poor showing he could end up falling to 6-10

James Harden is not gonna slip because he is one of the safest picks in the draft. a riser is most defintely is Jarvis Varnado of Mississippi State. reminds me of Marcus Camby in his prime. a long-athletic defender who will win multiple Defensive Player of the Year awards while also giving you 10 to 12 points a game. A guy who could fall is Earl Clark of Louisville, with some bad performances could fall out of the lottery.

Derozen has a chance to rise to the mid lottery with a tourny win (which I think is unlikely) or a dominant performance. He would be out of the water though when he played in the NBA if he declared,but his stock would rise with the factors I spoke on above. But really, Eric Maynor has the most to prove. If his team gets to the second round, he will have solidified his place in the lottery. If he gets outplayed by Collison (which could happen, but seems unlikely) Collison would see his stock rise to the point he could get drafted at if he declared last year (late 1st round). That game has a huge effect on where Collison and Maynor get drafted.

I think these two seniors need to have a good tourney because they have the talent and potential to be late first rounders but are projected to be second rounders in most sites. I think pargo has a better chance to be a first round pick and good a point guard in the league because of his toughness and build also he got dimes for days, and Heytvelt would surely be a late first rounder if he hadn’t had such a rough career first with his season ending injury when he was a frosh i think and then the whole shrooms scandal but he is nearly 7 foot and can hit the 3 and do some dirt down low and that never goes unnoticed to scouts.

After this whole tournament when he puts up big numbers, he’s gonna move into the lottery anywhere from 10-14. Another guy to watch out for would be Danny Green from UNC because he puts up solid numbers and nobody really notices them because he’s on a good team. Watch him to move from the second round to a late first rounder.

Jarvis Varnardo, could get into a top 15 – 20 pick this year. Especially if he locks up Brockman. I.E. – out rebounds him, blocks multiple shots, gets 15 points.

I’m going to agree with whichever poster suggested Eric Maynor and Darren Collison having the most to lose/gain in this NCAA Tournament.

No other first-round game offers up such exciting and important NBA Draft implications.

If either can guide their respective teams to the Elite Eight, they will likely have solidified top-20 positions. Maynor may even be playing for a spot in the top 10, if he shows natural point guard abilities along with his prodigious scoring and defense..

There are many players who can rise and fall. I think regardless of whether eric maynor wins or loses against UCLA whichever guard outplays the other will get drafted before the other. I personally think that maynor will give collison hell. If teams get smart and guard gerald henderson so that he has to attack with his left hand henderson’s stock will drop becuz he will be exposed for not being able to go left. Jarvis Varnardo has a great chance of iroving his stock. Toney douglas has a chance to play his way into the lottery if he takes FSU far enough(maybe sweet 16). But for me the player with the most to prove is BJ mUllens. He has been a huge disappointment as far as im concerned but if he can string together some good games he can go as high as the top 10.

Toney Douglas, if they can beat wisconsin, and maybe get into the sweet 16, would probably guarantee himself a spot in the draft. Right now it looks like Ty lawson will really fall if the Tarheels dont make at least the championship game. He is getting a shit ton of bad press for sitting out against a 16 seed they blew out by 40 without him. Lame. I think If VCU beats UCLA, the player thats stock will jump the most isnt Maynor, he is a solid mid round pick and not quite the athlete to jump into the top 10. Larry Sanders, who had all that hype in his conference tourney, might decide to jump ship and go out with Maynor and quite possibly thier coach, who could leave to greener pastures. He is really long as discussed, athletic, and might be a little overhyped so why not cash in on it.

Toney Douglas and Demar DeRozan. DeRozan will use this oppurtunity to change some scouts heads and make them think he is NBA ready (which he isn’t) and Douglas is just such a great player who is underrated so I think he will rise too. Falling will probably be any good player on a high seed that loses early.

The guy can play and shoot, and to put guys like Lester Hudson and Wesley Matthews on the draft list and not have Abrams is a shame. The guy will be a 2nd round pick and will be a solid addition to any NBA bench, and will be able to provide solid minutes and score against other NBA bench players right away. I would love to see Cleveland grab him in the 2nd round, because he would be a great addition to make that team deeper and help the 2nd unit put up points when LeBron and Williams are on the bench. It would be a low cost small salary cap hit bench player, where they wouldn’t need to sign a bench player and they can spend the money bringing in a legit big so they can challenge Boston.

Just my opinion, Would love to hear some thoughts on it.
