OhCanada-ParticipantThe East from 1st to 10th Cleveland to Detroit are only seperated by 3 wins. In 11th is a capable Wizards team with Wall heating up, 12th is a fairly competitive Knicks team with an emerging KP, and 13th is an underachieving Bucks.
In such a stacked Eastern conference how long do you see this lasting and who do you see actually competing for a Playoff spot and who do you see falling short when it matters.
I have my doubts about 3 teams in particular. Charlotte, Miami, and Orlando.
Charlotte has played well and although I’m very happy to see them doing well I just don’t think they will remain a Top 5 offense throughout the season. Batum has really opened up things for Walker with his spacing and playmaking though so it should be interesting to watch develop. I’m just not sold yet.
Miami is one of the most legit teams in the East and probably the favourites to meet Cleveland in the Finals if healthy…but does anyone expect them to stay healthy. They have the most fragile roster in the league with a ton of injury prone players and players dubbed as immature or loose cannons. It should be interesting to see how they hold together if major injuries plague the roster again this year.
Orlando has tons of talent and great fight yet they are very young and inexperienced and I think they are getting alot of their wins by catching teams off gaurd. As the season goes on teams will start to remember that if they sleep on the Magic they will get a whopping and play a full 48 minutes like they should.
Here’s two teams I sold on.
The Detroit Pistons were my dark horse team of the year and while Reggie Jackson is still figuring out how to become a consistently elite lead gaurd they have too much talent and guidance from SVG not to make the playoffs. Andre the Giant is dominating the glass and the Marcus Morris signing has me wondering how good Markieff would be in another situation as well.
Everyone has lost hope in the Wizards. Holy…No loyalty just on and off these guys Dixie’s. Washington will correct the slow start led by an amazing player John Wall.

Make’Em Say UGHParticipantNo respect for the Hornets. Even if you’re not sold, theres no way they’ll be in the lottery. It’s not just Batum…it’s Zeller stepping up, the addition of Lin, Lamb, Hawes and ofcourse Kemba & Big Al.

220ParticipantThe Heat only have two key players who are truly injury prone and that’s Dwyane Wade and Luol Deng. Chris Bosh has had his share of injuries, but even after the blood clots he hasn’t had enough injuries for me to deem his injury prone. This years Heat team has good depth so unless Bosh, Dragic, and/or Whiteside go down when Wade does I still like them as a top 4 seed in the East.

PulseGlazerParticipantI’m in on Boston and Charlotte. They are on the save level as the Hawks. They went make the finals, but have as good a shot at the conference finals as anyone but Cleveland. The Bulls are a bit of fools gold unless, stop me if you’v heard this, Rose comes back (out at least stops shooting so damn much). The Heat are awesome, but are really two teams and need more shooting. Detroit send a year and a bench away.

TripleDoubleScoutParticipantI’m not sold on Detroit just yet. Dont trust rheir defense long term, but they are dangerous. Charlotte looks legit because they just play SO hard on both ends, but will that wear on them as the playoff races really heat up after the all-star break? Also, what’s going on with the Wizards? If its simply a case of a stretch of bad play as some analysts have suggested, they will somehow make the playoffs then. If its anything deeper than that, obviously they are done already…
