Terrible tade for Philly. You lose your best perimeter defender and your 2nd best bench player for a headache, a player passed his prime/defensive liability/injury prone and a #2 pick?

    Not enough.

thats one of the worst trade ideas I’ve heard in a while.  Iguodala is an elite defender and an athletic feak.  Thaddeus Young is a young, solid player.  Friggin Tyrus Thoms is terrible and is contract is even worse.  Cory Magette is a joke an is overpaid as well.  The number 2 pick in the draft include in this trade would not make up for the fact that Thomas and Magette just aren’t good basketball players.  Try again homie.

Actually that trade benefits Phily more.  They are getting Magette Expiring they can deal later and adding two young players.  Evan Turner can now get more minutes and they can grab a shooter( Barnes) or big men(Robinson, Drummonds)  Iggy is not that important for them moving forward.  Also Young can be replaced.  He has done enough that I would not trade him when a deal like this comes along.  Philly saves a ton of money and get talent in return. They can now amnesty Brand and have a lot of cap room.  They need to resign Lou Williams for sure.

If Collins can get Thomas to play like he did on the Bulls, this trade would be a steal.  You get younger talent and save money.  Bobcats are actually dumb enough to do this but I think they are smart enough to take their time and rebuild. This has worked for OKC, Minny, Grizz, and a few other teams.

    Turner

    Maggette

    6th Lou Williams

The Sixer say Hell No…But only because It could be sweeter for Us Both if we modify this trade

    Who says No???

The Sixers trade Andre Iguadola, Nik Vucevic and the 45th pick in the Draft(lets assume a Wing Player is here for Charlote to add more scoring/shooting)

The Bobcats trade Tyrus Thomas, Corey Maggette, The 2nd and 31st picks in the Draft

Philly drafts Andre Drummond Pf/C with the 2nd Overall Pick and in doing so let Spencer Hawes go in Free Agency

@ 15th they’d likely target a Sg/Sf depending on where Turner fits in best in the starting line up, let’s say they draft a shooter with some size like Terrence Ross 15th, or maybe even take the home town guy Dion Waiters

@ 31st they’d probally draft BPA or take a true back up Pg like Malik Wayns, they can find a steal here IMO

Charlote gets an All Star Sf in Iggy , an offensive C in Vucevic and the 45th pick to find a decent shooter on the bench, they also get rid of two bad contracts(well Corey’s expires next year along with Brand’s I believe, that would provide over 27 million in cap flexibility) Thomas’s deal is bad but him and Drummond together would be a very athletic Frontcourt, Brand and Doug Collins could develope Tyrus into a very good Pf in the mold of Kenyon Martin and then he’d be worth the size and lenght of his deal…

    Sixers 2012/2013 Line Up

    Holiday-Ross-Turner-Brand-Drummond-Wayns-Williams-Maggette-Young-Thomas-Allen and Meeks

we could start Thad at Sf or Lou Will/Meeks at Sg if Collins doesn’t want start 2 rookies next season, Drummond would be an instant upgrade defensively at Center although he’d need to refine his offensive game, Brand would help him and Tyrus Thomas out hugely in both aspects, people forget he was a 20 and 10 All Star someimes…Elton and Mags would have expiring contracts worth 27 million in Cap space next Summer…Our core would be Holiday/Turner/Thad/Thomas/Drummond/Ross/Wayns and Allen, we could lose Lou Will to free agency next year unless he really does love it here, we could always use his scoring right Mikey V …LOL

    Bobcats 2012/2013 Line Up

Augustine-Henderson-Iguadola-Biyombo-Vucevic-Walker(6th man role)-Reggie Williams-D.Brown-Moon-Diop-Carrol and Mullens( they’d also have the 45th pick to add a shooter or big body off the bench)

one players does not kill a team.  Also he can be trade bait.  Dude is a expiring contract.  The money Philly would save would be crazy.  They have already reach the peak that this current team will go and need to shake a few things up if they want to make it pass the second round.  If Bulls and Orlando are healthy, they may not even make it out of the first round as the team is currently constructed.

This trade is terrible for Charlotte. You don’t trade the #2 pick for someone that’s paid $15M and isn’t good enough to lead your team very fat. And Thad Young was a disappointment this season.

From an economic perspective you’re breaking even with Iggy, but you have a financial surplus with the #2 pick.  Iggy is a very good player, but he’s paid like it too.  The #2 pick is likely to be worth much more than the cost of a rookie salary.

The last thing Charlotte wants to do right now is pay Iggy big money when he has no hope of carrying them anywhere.  An elite defender with an 18 ppg ceiling will not take the cats to the promise land.  They want to compile maximum talent over the next 2-3 years on the least $ possible in order to become a contender in 4-5 years.  This trade would move them in the wrong direction–they need that pick.
