Was watching First things first and fatboy Antoine Walker was talking about how lebron should join the Celtics if he wanted to win. Could Lebron do like CP3, and opt in and do a sign an trade with the Celtics for Hayward and cash fillers ? I mean, Lebron could actually play the 4 unlike Hayward, he’d be a better fit and they could match up well with GSW. Would Kyrie be the only obstacle in this trade happening ? Lebron being coached by Stevens with this system and these young guys would be sick.  Thoughts ?

Antoine Walker played for Boston.  And didn’t Kyrie leave Cleveland to be the man?  You would lose Hayward and probably be unable to resign Smart at the least.  Most likely throwing in Rozier or Brown in that package as well… This team would become the Beantown Cavaliers before summer league.

If I was Koby Altman, the Celtics would be the last team I want to trade with. The one remaining piece the Cavs have from that abysmal Kyrie trade is the 8th pick. No way I’d trade LeBron to a team that has already fleeced the franchise with an injured player and is the biggest threat to the Cavs in the East.

That said, I’m not opposed to the idea of the Celtics trading Hayward in an attempt to add depth at PF or C. I’m just not sure who would be a willing partner. Between the unkown surrounding how good Hayward will be after he recovers and the reputation Ainge has as a too-shrewd-for-his-own-good GM, I can’t see it happening.

Cavs knew IT was injured when they completed the trade. Their medical people checked him out. Buyer beware I’m afraid…

I’ve been wondering what the Kings would have to give up to get Hayward. They REALLY need a SF and they don’t sign free agents of Hayward’s caliber.

I cant see, after all of that, that they now trade Hayward. His value will be at its lowest as he is yet to recover from serious injury and he is on major money. The effort  to get his family to move, the reconnection with Stevens… Danny Ainge is as cold as ice but i cant see it. I would think everyone is extra cautioua about trading with Ainge now as well. He may have to trade a minor piece and lose the deal badly just to get back in the circle because i think teams are scared of dealing with him. Go on Danny, bend over and take one for the team.

    (this is not Bryan)

You can’t trade a max player after one year no player will ever sign a max with you again.

Also it would be a terrible look for LeBron to go to the team that everyone assumes will beat him next year anywhere. If he’s going to go elsewhere he should go to a team that he can put over the top — not a team that is already there without him.

If they trade Hayward, after he ditched Utah to move to Boston, after his major injury, no other major free agents would consider Boston. I understand it’s a business, but if they treated him like that, no one will go near them.

Ainge would not have given up a young prospect in Zizic, a good role player in Crowder and a likely high pick as well as Ish Thomas for Kyrie if Ish wasn’t clearly injured. Don’t forget Ish was 2nd All NBA Team last year and Kyrie wasn’t. Kyrie only had one more year on his deal and Ish was at his peak so a straight trade of the guys would have seemed fair.

On a lighter note what if say LBJ opted in so he could be traded and Cavs said, sorry you are staying put, – you opted in so we’ll take another year of you!
