What if Miami wins the NBA Finals but Dwyane Wade wins the Finals MVP?  Would that be bad for Lebron’s "legacy"?

Magic Johnson won 5 titles and won 3 Finals MVP’s, Kareem won one and James Worthy won another. Cedric Maxwell won Finals MVP during Larry Bird’s first title. Joe Dumars won it during the Pistons first ring over Isiah. Also, Tony Parker won it in 2007 over Tim Duncan, and the year before Wade won it over Shaq. Jordan is really the only one too take down Finals MVP during every championship he played in, but I feel like winning Finals MVP does not really do as much to LeBron’s "legacy" as much as winning rings would. Regardless of who wins it, LeBron has still played the best basketball on this team for the entire year and if Dwyane Wade wins Finals MVP that would probably not be forgotten.

Way to kill my thread so early.

I like your response though, but I honestly believe the LeBron haters will not be completely shunned if James doesn’t win the Finals MVP.  He will be criticized for another year, or until he wins a ring and finally gets Finals MVP.

I’m sure he’ll win it though.

He is still a champion even if wade won the finals mvp but lebron is not just like other players looking for a title, he is more than that.  He is in the position to grab the "the best player to ever play the game" title from Michael Jordan. Pippen and some people saying that he is already that kind of a player but still a lot of people do not agree including me.  For him to become the best ever he must be finals mvp more than once

Well, your thread was kind of weak, lol. But, still, LeBron haters will never be shut up. People will hate him for whatever reasons they want. They will hate him if he wins the Finals MVP, they will hate him if Wade wins it. Their argument may be weaker if LeBron wins it, but it will take a long time for people to stop hating LeBron. I have heard incredibly valid reasons for disliking him, as long as insane reasons. I even remember a guy saying he disliked LeBron on here because he "steals rebounds from his team mates". Wow.

If you dislike LeBron James, you are probably looking for an angle to take him down a peg as much as possible. I mean, people are even calling Scottie Pippen bitter for calling LeBron James greater than Michael Jordan, and while that might not have been the most politically correct thing to say for Jordan’s former running mate, surely people do not have to be outraged by it. You can disagree, but people just seem to be incredibly bitter towards LeBron for leaving.

Also, while I totally agree that "The Decision" was lame, people would have hated him for leaving anyway he left. How do you leave a team with humility? Does not happen. They hated Chris Bosh for leaving, Utah hated Carlos Boozer for leaving, it is an ongoing thing. So, people will hate LeBron James regardless, they will hope for his downfall and I can not blame them. I have people I like and people I root against as well, just so happens that LeBron has been the player I have chosen to root for because I saw potential greatness. Legacy is a very loose term, one in which I think people dwell on a little too much and one in which people define it by different standards. Right now, LeBron is only adding to it if he does indeed win a championship.

This is a good topic. If Wade wins finals MVP, I think public perception would say this is Wade’s team, which doesn’t bode well for LeBron who is considered to carry the "torch" from Kobe.

finals mvp is giving to the player who had the best series, not entire playoffs like hockey does                         (which makes more sense) if it happens,oh well. legacy questions can’t be answered by one season,or one playoff run. Now,I’m sure D.Wade would enjoy being the 2x finals mvp and throw himself into those great debates. By the way,I’m one of these "Lebron haters" that happen to have an opinion of why I didn’t like the move. Its not personal, not about his "talents" and what beach he chose to take them to. Last offseason could have balanced the NBA, and instead it made it that much more top heavy. I root for the lakers, but I also root for my home team,The Pistons. No one is bringing their talents here, and they basically have no real shot at competing for a title. Other teams will be the same. The nba will be like women’s college basketball, 4 teams that really matter
