CochiseParticipantThe talk for the last few weeks has been about Wiggins heading to Minnie. I think 2 players lost in all of the talk are Bennett and Mohammad. What are you guys thoughts on the two and possiblely what type of a season do you forsee them having with all of the change in Minnie?

WarblingSpamalopeParticipantI have no idea how gr3 doesn’t spend the whole season in the d league. Especially with flip chasing the 8 seed. I’m curious after the love trade who stays on the roster and who goes

Chilbert arenasParticipantI keep forgetting GR3 is on the Wolves roster, how much do you think he’ll spend in the d-league?

phila9012ParticipantI used to think shabazz has the potential to be something in the NBA, but now all I see is a PF in a SG body, which I have said on here a few times. He can’t dribble or get by anyone, he is an average shooter at best, a bad shooter at worst. He plays very little defense. Those are 3 key attributes teams look for in a wing, that you basically need to be very good at one of them and good at another to make it in the NBA. He isnt good at any of them. Which is why I dont really see him being more than a 9th or 10 man who is an energy guy. I don’t see shabazz playing very much until he is a knock down shooter or gets a lot better at defense, so maybe 10 to 15 minutes a game max

OverTimeCrunkParticipantShabazz Muhammad i see being a 6th man for the wolves and getting 6th man of the year mentions in 2 or 3 years maybe. So far what I’ve seen from him with the vary limited minutes he got last season is he’s a spark plug off the bench and probably won some of the close games the wolves were in last season, so his potential is still there.
And for AB i heard he slimmed down from last season and looked better in SL games. I think AB could be good if keeps putting work into his game. I’d say he’s probably going to be better this year then last more then likely.

benny15ParticipantBennett i have more expectations and think he’ll have a good sophomore season in philly. he’ll get more than his fair share of touches and shot attempts and would have great opportunity to crash the glass a ton on both ends. having said that, if he averages 13 and 7 id say its already a good season since his rookie year numbers were at 4 and 3.
as for shabazz, he had a good scoring and rebounding rate last year when he got minutes. his per 36 minutes numbers actually werent bad. having said that though, he’s still an off ball scorer who would have fit into adelman’s system more if he wasnt a rookie. he has the makings to become a correy maggette type player who gets points and creates a lot of contact in the paint, thus gets to the free throw a lot. the issue at hand though is that what this timberwolves squad, offense isnt what they would be lacking.
say the thad for bennet deal happens as well, we are looking at a starting line-up of Pek, Thad, Wiggins, K-Mart, Rubio. three of your starters are known to be bad defenders. one is a rookie who played good defense in college and has great approach to that end of the court but he’s still a rookie and will need to adapt to the league first like all great defenders before him.
the starting big man itself is especially bad defensively and could only lead me to believe that pek might be moved later in the season once his trade value goes on the rise to open up the starting line-up for dieng. my point being is that if they need a change of pace player from the bench, they might go with brewer first to bolster the d instead of bazz for another scorer on the floor.
it would actually be quiet beneficial for bazz to be included in the trade and be sent to either cleveland or philly. in the cleveland, he’ll be able to play with lebron and love who are both willing passers and he could feed off them with cuts and off ball movement, something he actually did a solid job of last year. in philly, he can actually compete for the starting small forward role. his competiton would be hollis thompson and 2 rookies, mcdaniels and grant. and although i like mcdaniels and think he should be the starter, i think we all know bazz would get his number called and have more shots to take than any other team he could play for in the league.

PapoParticipantI still think Bennett still has decent potential as an athletic stretch 4 but I started thinking Shabazz was overrated after all the high school hype translated into nothing at UCLA. I don’t think its over as far as him developing goes but nowhere near what I thought he was gonna be earlier but its not over yet I suppose. Doesn’t look good tho for somebody as hyped as he was all thru high school but it wouldn’t be the first time.

PointForward23ParticipantHe wasnt a beast or anything in college but he definitely did something.
18 pts and 5 rebounds on 44% is nothing special….But its not nothing.
