So I’ve been thinking about him, and I believe that he might be projected to go too high on this draft.. He is a real tool for a good team, it is very rare to have such a good defensive sg, and his 53% from beyond the arc is unreal for a 2, but let’s be honest, he is not much of a scorer.. Sure, he will make some plays, but will he be any good for teams that need immediate production, like Charlotte or Minnesota? I hear that the T-wolves are quite in love with him, and it just seems a bit strange.. You’ve got Rubio, you need a guy that Rubio will pass the ball to for scoring, and you choose Oladipo? And thinking about trading up to get him, especially when guys with killer instict like Bazz or McLemore are there? I mean, for a team like the Thunder or the Blazers9 that have their scoring set) that kind of selection would have a meaning, but Oladipo being a top-5 pick? This must really be a low-class, weak draft.. Do not get me wrong, I know he is top-3 as far as athleticism is concerned, and I really believe he will be a very useful, Tony-Allen type of player, but if I were to select a shooting guard in the top 10, I’d really go with McLemore or even KCP.. After all, this is what this position is for, right? Shooting the ball and scoring, especially when you don’t have other guys to get the job done.. What do you guys think?

I have him #1 on my big board. He is going to come in from day one and be a culture changer. His defense and overall attitude will be infectious. His offensive game is very underrated, but there isn’t any clear allstars in the draft so why not go for broke and draft a player with a huge upside? He is already shooting over 50% from 3 so imagine if he develops his offensive game just a little more how dangerous he would be? With Cleveland already having Kyrie and Waiters to score the ball I would take a long hard look at Oladipo if I were them. But that is just me. Obviously I am higher on Oladipo than most people, but I believe there is decent chance he could end up being the best player in the draft and with no clear #1 pick I am looking at the player with the most upside and that player is Oladipo in my eyes.

McLemore isn’t known for his killer instinct…

There is a reason he is projected to go so high. He’s gonna help whatever team he goes to

Please go back and watch DWade in college, he was a one man show. 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists a game in his first full season

Oladipo is a hell of a prospect: Long arms, defensive-minded, athletically gifted, improved shooter… He can help any team.

Unless Noel or BMac drop (0.1% chance), I don’t see how the Bobcats don’t snag him. Kemba, Oladipo, and MKG would be three of the hardest working young guys and proven winners. (Atleast in college).

If the Bobcats have a core of Kemba, Oladipo, and MKG, I think they could turn it around and not be the laughingstock of the league.

You’re severly underrating Dipo’s offensive repertoire. He in fact made many more clutch shots then McLemore this year. Dipo probably is a 20ppg scorer if he played on a less talented team that needed him to be more aggressive scoring.

Just because he isn’t a high volume shooter doesn’t mean he isn’t a scorer. Dipo scored 13ppg on only 6 shots shooting a surreal 60% from the field which is unheard of for a SG and 2 of the 6 shots were from beyond the arc.

If you increase the volume of shots which would reduce his efficiency then Dipo becomes a 17 ppg scorer still shooting over 50%. His shot keeps getting better n better and he’s not going to be somebody youre just going to be able to leave open.

I hate the Tony Allen comparison because he never was much of a scorer nor was he ever a threat shooting. Dipo is a threat shooting and knows how to score either spotting up or slashing. Iggy is a better comp then Tony Allen considering Dipos all around skill set.

Minny would make a fantastic move by trading up to grab Dipo. He fits a need and they’re style better then any other player in this draft. HI’m and Rubio would be a great pairing on both ends. Dipo and Rubio would also pair to manufacture a ton of turnovers on defense. Both are great at picking pockets and playing passing lanes and both have an enormous reach advantage for their position.

Wit Rubio-Dipo-Love the Wolves would have a great winning core to build on.

I think he is a better prospect then Mclemore although I’m not the biggest Mclemore fan. I just don’t understand how a guy like Harrison Barnes last year just gets butchered for not having the greatest first step, dribbling abillities and falls to 7th yet Mclemore is a “lock” for 2nd. Oladipo may be the beat fit for Charlotte between the two although I see Charlotte drafting Mclemore.

i love oladipo, I think he will be a stud but only time will tell. I really hope Charlotte or the Twolves pick him up to give him to give him the best opportunity to grow and have a more featured role. I love how this draft has lots prospects people love and hate or have such differing views. It makes the draft more interesting to me and also makes me think the draft might be more unexpected than ever.

I’m definitely not saying that he is not a good player, or a very intriguing prospect. If I was on the clock and needed a great complementary player for my stars, a guy who would be a quality guard and do so many things well, he or Porter would be a no-match choice. But come on guys, this is the NBA we are talking about, are you sure that Victor can have the role of a scorer in the league? I even saw someone that compared his ceiling to Drexler, in another post.. Come on, be serious, please. What I meant with the Tony Allen comparison is that in my opinion he will be asked to have a similar role, not that their games match. For example, let’s pick a random team, let’s say Sacramento. They have DMC and Tyreke, but all of a sudden they say ”hey, let’s draft Oladipo and make him our primary weapon, he shot 60% against 6’4 college guys”? Again, I do not want to be misunderstood here, I repeat that I would draft him for my team, maybe even with a top-10 pick, but let us all calm down for a minute and not act like he is the prospect of the century, due to our (or your) liking towards him.

haha i’m calm i just see scoring potential with oladipo. His attitude and work ethic will really help him too. Hey If you don’t think so that’s great that means depending on what your looking for you draft someone else.

I am quite high on Dipo. Will he be a 20ppg all-star ? Prob not but he is hardworking and would be a great player to have on your team.

MKG is a bit the same – he prob won’t play in an all-star game and may not score 20ppg but his heart, hustle and other intangibles make him a great teammate just like Dipo…

The fact that he’s a lock down defender rates him higher than any SG in this draft. Bobcats could really use hm considering the fact Henderson and Gordon aren’t strong defenders and Olapido can pass and shoot the ball which would be a great compliment to Kemba Walker who rarely turns the ball over and likes to use his quickness and tight handles to blow by guys. This is only if the Bobcats have plans to sign big men like JJ Hickson or Jermaine O’Neal.

I Think his NBA potential is lock down defender that can slash to the basket and rebound very well for a G/F his height. I can see why some people think he could be looked at as a poor man’s Wade.

Charlotte has to be drooling at the chance to add Ben Mclemore, Victor Olapido or Shabazz Mohammed (In a classic Jordan gamble) to play Sg next to Micheal Kidd Gilchrist (whom is said to remind MJ of Scottie Pippen) All 3 G Prospects have great potential as scorers because of their insane combination of Athleticism and Work Ethic and great Measurables, for example Ben has a great outside shot and explosive leaping ability, Victor has a insane work ethic, defensive instincts and leaping ability, Shabazz has the size, strenght and lenght to maximize his potential because he too has an insane work ethic, confidence and killer instinct. He also has an in between game and outside shot.

Micheal Jordan mentoring either of those 3 next to MKG has me excited for the Bobcats/Hornets going forward…
