Don’t get me wrong: I like the player and I think that in the right situation he can be really good. But, a top 3 pick? Usually you would expect from such a high pick to be a franchise player. I just don’t see that happening with him. He’s athletic, a good shooter, and he’s pretty quick. But I see him more as a glue-player, a do-it-all who can make your team better, rather than the guy who carries the team on his back, that’s what you usually wait from your 3rd pick.

Also, I think that being selected so high, regardless of the great money, would damage him. Too many expectations to deal with. For example: what would you say about Bargnani, if Raptors would have taken him with the 10th pick, instead of the 1st one??? Maybe not a great pick, but for sure nobody would ever think about a bust or a wasted pick.

Funny how nearly everybody was sleeping on Vesely before he had a couple of highlight dunks. I remember arguing with people who said he would end up in the 20s, which was always ridiculous.

In this draft, he could be a top-3 pick. He has the talent and the potential to be an excellent impact role-player. There aren’t any franchise players in the draft. Kyrie Irving is the closest thing and even he has risks.

I agree with Ron on this one, I think he could be a top 3 pick too especially with Kanter sitting out the entire year.  We’ll know more when the lottery is set, but I could see him going top 5 and top 3 if the right team for him is there.

I think Vasely has as much hole in his game as Perry Jones, and ironically these two players probably has the best tools as far as length and athleticism combination. I haven’t heard reports on how Vasely’s workethic and court demeanor, like the negative reports I’ve heard from Perry Jones.

Vesely clearly plays with more purpose than Jones does; however, I don’t think either player has a poor work-ethic. Jones is in great shape and works very hard (from what I’ve heard), he just lacks aggressiveness.

Yea that’s why I don’t know how good Vasely’s workethic and court demeanor because like most international players, you don’t really have a full grasp of the player compare to college players. But Jones’ court demeanor is well documented. Because Jones has been exposed more, Some people have ranked Vasely ahead of him. I don’t agree or disagree with the assessment but that’s the world of scouting.

You should check him out ESPN3. They still have a few of Vesely’s games available to watch. He plays for Partizan Belgrade.

I think Vesely will be a bust. He can’t shoot so you don’t really want him at SF. He is athletic but can’t create on his own so is limited to fast break points and put backs. He can’t even get starter minutes on Partizan, a rather bad team. Late teen pick worthy.
