USA Should Tap the Ball Away From the Rim More!

Does anyone else think the US should make more of an effort in Rio to tip the ball away as soon as an opponent shot hits the rim?

I'm Australian, so I hope nobody forwards this forum topic to Coach K (haha), but I really think the US would be dominant if they made a concerted effort to throw their weakside big man defender at the rim late on shots so they can tip away any ball that hits the rim.

No other team comes close to the length and athleticism of the Americans and I feel like (especially) DeAndre Jordan plays so effortlessly 'above the rim' that he could just swat away half their opponents' shots before they get a chance to go down.

Obviously it's not allowed in the NBA with the "invisible cylinder" goal tending rule, so the US team isn't used to the tactic, but no other team could take advantage of the rule the way the US could. If I were them, I'd be using that play as often as possible!

Thoughts???

Of course Cousins, Durant, George, Barnes and Draymond Green play above the rim too.
