Status QuoParticipantDurant, Rose, Love, Curry, Harden, Davis, Cousins, K. Thompson, Derozan, Parsons, Faried, Lillard, Drummond, Hayward, Korver, George, Griffin, Irving and Beal.
Who do you think makes and doesn’t make the cut?

Memphis MadnessParticipantList of candidates: Durant, Rose, Love, Curry, Harden, Davis, Cousins, K. Thompson, Derozan, Parsons, Faried, Lillard, Drummond, Hayward, Korver, George, Griffin, Irving and Beal.
Here are my picks:
Starters:
G Steph Curry
G Derrick Rose
SF Kevin Durant
PF Kevin Love
C Anthony Davis
Bench:
PG Kyrie Irving
SG James Harden
SF Paul George
PF Blake Griffin
C DeMarcus Cousins
Reserves:
SG Klay Thompson
C Andre Drummond
I am going with this as my 12 man team. Plenty of star power everywhere. 3 great point guards in Rose, Curry, and Kyrie Irving. This team is led by Kevin Durant at the 3 who should be the number one option on offense. This team is also really strong at power forward with Kevin Love starting and Blake Griffin off the bench. Love and Griffin are two of my top MVP candidates for next year (behind favorite LeBron and probable runner up Kevin Durant).
I have Anthony Davis starting at center. He played in 2012 and can do just about everything. I can also see him spending time at the 4. Two good backup centers in Cousins and Drummond. If Cousins "character issues" are put behind him then he should DEFINITELY make this team. But, I have him off the bench.
The five man bench mob is LOADED: Kyrie Irving, Harden, Paul George, with Blake and Cousins inside. That team by itself should win the World Cup with scoring from every spot and with PG being the prime defender.
Harden is a crafty scorer so I think he makes the team. Klay is a killer shooter and great 2 way shooting guard. Hopefully he is a lock. Paul George is another great athletic 3 who they can hopefully fit in with Durant on some small ball front lines.
I would like to see D Rose make the team. This could be good for him to get back into playing condition. With some other great guards he can manage his minutes. It will also be interesting to see him play off the ball.
Ok, this team is loaded.
My last spot goes to Andre Drummond. Great rebounder and shot blocker who can dunk the ball on anybody. 1-10 basically the only TRUE center is Cousins and he has defensive issues. I have Anthony Davis starting at the 5 but he is more of a power forward. So, Drummond gives them a defensive presence and a legit second center. He also looks like a guy who could contribute for our 2016 and 2020 Olympic teams.
My last cuts are Kyle Korver who would give the US a veteran, a deadeye 3 point shooter, and another wing guy, and Kenneth Faried who could have been a rebounding, energy specialist for us. But, I have Drummond as our athletic rebounder off the bench. Drummond is also bigger and a better shot blocker.

bobbybParticipantI would leave Cousins home. He is uncontrollable. Tournaments like this are much different than club games.

IndianaBasketballParticipantThere are only two spots (maybe three if Derrick Rose doesn’t play) available in my opinion…
G: Derrick Rose *** – He’s a lock if he decides to play
G: Stephen Curry – Lock
G: Kyrie Irving – Lock
G: Damian Lillard – Lock
G/F: James Harden – Lock
G/F: Klay Thompson – Team USA needs an extra shooter. Kyle Korver could be an option here too, but I went with Thompson since he’s a better defender.
F/G: Paul George – Lock
F: Kevin Durant – Lock
F/C: Kevin Love – Lock
F/C: Blake Griffin – Lock
F/C: Anthony Davis – Lock
C: Andre Drummond – He’s an awful free-throw shooter, but he’s big, athletic, a monster rebounder and can be an intimidating rim protector. I don’t think he’s better than DeMarcus Cousins, but he seems like a better fit for this specific team.
Kevin Durant is the only player I’m willing to say is a lock to be a starter. The only other player I’d bet on is Anthony Davis since he’s a great rim protector, plus can shoot and score without plays being called for him. I don’t know who’ll start at point guard. The guard rotation will be tough to figure out. I’d go with Paul George as a starter at one of the wing positions due to his defensive/all-around ability.
The competition will be fierce.

thricethefunParticipantI could see the logic in Curry, Lillard, and even Kyrie making it over Wall just because they are better shooters but Rose? The guy hasn’t been good since 2011. People forget that he was garbage in the games he played last year shooting 35% from the floor.

Ghost01ParticipantIsn’t Thibs on the coaching staff? And beyond that, I feel like all the guys from 2010 (I believe its Rose, Curry, Love, and Durant) are all probably locks. Rose is definitely playing unless if he completely changes his mind.
As a Bulls fan, I don’t necessarily agree that Rose should automatically make it, but I think he is going to. K likes him, Thibs is there, and as stupid as it sounds, he kind of needs this more than some of these other guys. He legitimately needs to play in some game speed before this season starts.
